Job description

Job Description: Job Summary:

Greenix is looking for an Engineering Team Lead to own our ecommerce and web platform and to set technical direction for a small, high-leverage development team. You'll be hands-on - architecting, building, and maintaining the ecomm/web platform yourself - while also directing the work of a junior engineer focused on backend and data projects and coordinating with an external contractor building our AI/agent enablement tools (MCP servers, agent workflows).

This is a working technical lead role: most of your week is still spent writing code and solving problems directly, but you're also the person who decides what the team works on next and reviews how it gets built.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Own the architecture, development, and ongoing maintenance of Greenix's ecommerce platform and website
  • Drive improvements in site performance, technical SEO, and conversion-relevant metrics, using analytics (Google Analytics or similar) to inform decisions
  • Own project intake and prioritization for the development team's backlog, directing the day-to-day work of a junior engineer and an external AI/agent enablement contractor
  • Review code and provide technical guidance to the junior engineer, raising the bar on engineering standards across backend and data-focused projects
  • Coordinate with the external contractor on AI/agent and MCP server initiatives, ensuring their work aligns with the broader platform and priorities
  • Apply DevOps practices across CI/CD, deployment, and infrastructure for web/ecomm systems, partnering closely with your manager (Systems, InfoSec & Infrastructure) on security and infrastructure standards
  • Work full-stack as needed - front-end, back-end, integrations - to keep the ecomm/web roadmap moving
  • Help guide the platform toward an API-first architecture, where front-end experiences are built on top of well-defined APIs.
  • Help shape AI Development Practices for the company.
Qualifications:
  • ~5 years of experience in software engineering, with a strong track record on ecommerce platforms (having supported or built multiple ecomm sites is a big plus)
  • Full-stack development experience across modern front-end and back-end technologies
  • Working knowledge of SEO fundamentals and web analytics tools (Google Analytics or equivalent)
  • Practical DevOps experience - CI/CD, deployment pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, or similar
  • Experience directing the work of other engineers or contractors - setting priorities, reviewing output - without necessarily having held a formal management title
  • Strong communication skills; comfortable setting technical direction and prioritizing work for a small team
  • Hands-on experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, plus experience with React, Angular, or a similar front-end framework
Compliance Considerations:
  • ADA Accommodations: Reasonable accommodation will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
  • Regulatory Requirements: Must comply with applicable state and federal employment laws. Familiarity with pest control licensing and insurance documentation processes is beneficial.
Physical Requirements:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Frequently required to sit, talk, and listen.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must be able to use a computer and phone for extended periods.
Work Environment:
  • Office-based role located in Orem, UT.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative, and service-oriented team culture.
