Job description

Pay based on experience | Requires flexibility to work various shifts
In this fast-paced, high-energy environment where guest comfort is essential, how do we ensure our Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems are kept up and running? As the HVAC Mechanical and Controls Supervisor, you will maintain, diagnose, service, and repair all HVAC equipment and control systems. While carrying out the job duties listed below, you will contribute to our continued success by demonstrating unsurpassed guest service, a high level of integrity and ethical standards, and personal and professional dedication to our mission, vision, and values.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential Functions)
  1. *Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring, and training team members; scheduling and motivating team members; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining team members; addressing complaints; and resolving problems.
  2. *Oversee, mentor, and help train HVAC Control Techs team.
  3. *Teach HVAC Control Techs at varied skill levels the necessary fundamentals of the job.
  4. *Maintain, diagnose, service, and repair all HVAC equipment and control systems, including but not limited to heat pumps, variable air volume boxes, air handling units, roof top units, condensers, cooling towers, pumps, chillers, boilers, heat exchangers, water heaters, water coolers, water treatment equipment, coolers, and freezers.
  5. *Monitor HVAC systems and equipment using computerized building automation system. Adjust the building automation system to ensure guest comfort and efficient operation of mechanical equipment.
  6. *Monitor and maintain temperatures and thermostat settings in all company buildings.
  7. *Train mechanics in the operation of existing, redesigned, and new building control systems.
  8. *Implement the HVAC Preventive Maintenance Program, including adjustments, replacement of filters, cleaning of coils, and lubrication of units.
  9. *Review, edit, and modify HVAC preventive maintenance procedures to insure proper maintenance levels and intervals.
  10. Order, receive, stock, and maintain the HVAC parts inventory. Maintain mechanical areas in a clean and orderly condition.
  11. *Work with Purchasing department for procurement of new parts or materials.
  12. *Record and maintain accurate and appropriate inventory levels of parts and inventory.
  13. Respond to emergency after hours calls for HVAC systems on a rotating on-call schedule.
  14. Work with Facilities Supervisor and approved controls vendors to design/redesign HVAC control systems as required to meet system needs. Communicate with and advise Mechanical Services Manager of needed system repairs or deficiencies.
  15. Prepare and maintain logs and records for HVAC control equipment and systems as required.
  16. Perform job duties in full compliance with departmental Internal Controls, policies, procedures, and regulations.
  17. Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications
  1. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. Four years of HVAC experience is required, along with formal technical training or completion of an apprenticeship in HVAC and Refrigeration trades.
  2. Experience with HVAC devices such as variable air volume boxes, air and water cooled chillers and related systems, and/or Energy Wheel Recovery technology is preferred.
  3. The ability to achieve and maintain a boiler operator's license is preferred.
  4. Office skills must include the ability to use standard office equipment and general computer knowledge. Experience with building automation systems, preferably Niagara AX Framework and/or Trane Tracer Summit, is preferred.
  5. The ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
  6. The ability to maintain discretion in handling confidential information.
  7. The ability to interact with guests and team members professionally.
  8. The ability to work irregular hours and extended shifts including late nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  9. While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk, hear, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, stand, sit, and move freely throughout the property for duration of scheduled shift. The team member is frequently required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The team member must be able to operate a personal computer. The team member is required to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects up to 50 pounds on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds occasionally, with assistance. Team member must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while performing job duties. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions
The noise level is usually moderate to loud. When on the casino floor, the noise level increases. The facility is not smoke free. While performing the duties of this job, the team member occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and at heights. The team member is occasionally exposed to outdoor weather conditions, wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and vibration.
