In this vital role, you'll ensure that legal documents-such as subpoenas, summons, and citations-are served, billed, and e-filed accurately and on time. Your attention to detail and commitment to precision will help keep legal cases moving forward smoothly.
Who We Are:
At Compex Legal Services, we do more than just support litigation-we set the standard for excellence in record retrieval, court reporting, and legal document services across the country. Our reputation is built on trust, precision, and top-tier service. Join us in Austin, Texas, and be part of a close-knit team that's redefining what it means to be a leader in the legal services industry.
What You'll Be Doing:
  • Manage 75-100 process service jobs each month, ensuring timely and accurate service of legal documents.
  • Coordinate with vendors to schedule and oversee process service requests.
  • Verify expenses and manage contractor agreements.
  • Perform detailed data entry using the MR8 program.
  • Provide regular status updates to clients and management, including daily updates for rush jobs.
  • Stay on top of mail, email, and voicemails-checking three times daily and responding within two hours.
  • Track and process officer's returns, affidavits, and vendor invoices efficiently.
  • E-file officer's returns with courts within four days of receipt.
  • Draft client billing within two days of receiving vendor invoices.
  • Conduct bi-weekly audits to ensure all documents are properly served and recorded.
  • Prepare daily reports summarizing document statuses and other key metrics.
  • Follow established procedures to maintain accuracy and compliance.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and colleagues.
  • Serve as backup for E-Notary services as needed.
What You Bring:
  • Professional and polished phone etiquette.
  • Legal background is a plus, but not required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively.
  • Typing speed of at least 50 wpm.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PDF formatting.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a knack for keeping both digital and paper files in order.
  • Basic administrative skills (drafting letters, preparing certified mail, etc.).
  • High school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • At least 1 year of legal experience preferred, with familiarity in case styles, party details, and court filings.
  • Ability to pass a background and criminal check.
  • Strong grammar skills and a confident communication style.
What We Offer:
  • One Team, One Goal: A collaborative environment where respect, accountability, and teamwork are key.
  • Pride & Passion: We value reliability, organization, and a proactive, self-directed approach to work.
  • Committed to Excellence: We set high standards and provide the tools and training you need to succeed.
