Job Summary:

The Director, Commercial Finance is a strategic finance leader responsible for driving profitable growth through pricing optimization, margin expansion, commercial excellence, and enterprise value creation. Serving as a key business partner to Sales, Marketing, Product Management, Operations, and Executive Leadership, this role provides financial leadership that shapes pricing, customer selection, and strategic investment decisions before they are made, ensuring resources are deployed to maximize returns.


The Director, Commercial Finance will lead the Company's Value Creation program, driving initiatives that enhance profitability, improve commercial performance, and deliver measurable financial results. This role builds a strong link between commercial execution and enterprise performance by translating financial insights into actions that support sustainable earnings growth and long-term shareholder value.


Job Description:

Commercial Strategy & Value Capture

  • Lead and continuously evolve the Company's Value Creation program, establishing priorities, tracking performance, and ensuring realization of targeted financial benefits across the enterprise. 
  • Partner with business leadership to identify, quantify, and capture margin expansion and value creation opportunities across products, customers, channels, and markets. 
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership, ensuring commercial initiatives support enterprise performance objectives and long-term value creation goals. 
  • Influence customer selection, portfolio strategies, and commercial investments by evaluating anticipated returns and value creation potential before commitments are made. 
  • Lead enterprise initiatives focused on revenue growth management, pricing excellence, contract optimization, and commercial effectiveness. 
  • Develop and implement value capture frameworks to ensure commercial benefits are measured, tracked, and sustained. 
  • Evaluate portfolio profitability and recommend actions to improve product, customer, and market economics. 

Margin Management & Profitability Improvement

  • Own financial analysis and reporting related to gross margin, contribution margin, and profitability performance.
  • Lead strategic initiatives aimed at increasing margin performance and improving return on commercial investments.
  • Drive customer and product profitability analyses to support resource allocation decisions.
  • Establish performance metrics and dashboards that provide visibility into margin trends and value realization.

Pricing & Revenue Management

  • Lead pricing strategy development, including value-based pricing, segmentation, price realization, and discount governance.
  • Partner with Sales and Product teams to improve pricing discipline and commercial decision-making.
  • Develop pricing analytics and tools to monitor realization, leakage, and competitive positioning.
  • Evaluate strategic customer agreements and commercial terms to ensure appropriate economic returns.
  • Drive continuous improvement in pricing processes, governance, and controls.

Business Partnership

  • Serve as the primary finance partner to commercial leadership teams.
  • Provide decision support for strategic growth initiatives, market expansion opportunities, and customer investments.
  • Influence commercial decisions through data-driven insights and financial rigor.
  • Facilitate scenario planning, market analyses, and business case development.
  • Support annual planning, forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.





Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications of Position:

  • Bachelor's degree or High School diploma and comparable experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant commercial finance responsibility. 
  • Demonstrated success driving margin expansion, pricing transformation, and value capture initiatives. 
  • Deep expertise in profitability analysis, pricing strategy, and commercial performance management. 
  • Experience partnering with senior commercial leaders and executive teams. 
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication, and influencing skills within all levels of the business.

Preferred Qualifications of Position:

  • MBA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
  • 15+ years of progressive finance experience, including significant commercial finance responsibility. 
  • Experience in print manufacturing
  • Background in revenue growth management, sales finance, or strategic finance. 
  • Experience leading large-scale transformation or business optimization initiatives.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic planning skills. 
  • Strong P& L experience
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain metrics and performance management.

Pay Statement

The national pay range for this role is listed above. The pay range may be slightly lower or higher based on the geographic location. The actual pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to: education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift and location. In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also include participation in a bonus, commission or incentive program.
