Director, Client Development (CPG) - Hybrid

Bentonville, AR. DESCRIPTION As a Director of Client Development for the Headquarters team with Acosta Group, you will play a pivotal role in helping our clients sell their merchandise at Walmart. You will assist the client with their go-to-market strategy that will be unique to Walmart. In this role you will provide leadership, counsel, and appropriate insights to help create the story of why the merchandise aligns with Walmart's strategy. You will work crossโ€‘functionally with Acosta Group's business intelligence, eโ€‘commerce, and retail execution teams to bring all Acosta assets to bear. You will communicate directly with the principals of the clientโ€™s organization as well as Walmartโ€™s buying team to set up meetings and presentations. You will partner with crossโ€‘functional teams at Acosta that specialize in item setโ€‘up, replenishment, and supply chain. Ideal candidate will reside in the Bentonville, Rogers, or Fayetteville, AR area and be comfortable working a hybrid schedule of at least three days in office.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist in the creation and execution of client strategic plans for success at Walmart, including new item introductions and expansion of existing items.
  • Manage key client business at Walmart and Sam's Club.
  • Organize client/customer meetings to discuss brand strategies.
  • Build compelling sales stories and presentations to support strategies.
  • Deliver target budget plans and new distribution goals for client and customer.
  • Identify new opportunities for growth; develop and implement sales plans to achieve them.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of objectives and liaise with leadership to develop operational plans that manage execution and measure results.
  • Manage crossโ€‘functional communication between analytics and supply chain teams to best understand all aspects of client businesses.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance analytics.
  • Optimize business performance to achieve company goals, including sales, profit, and new item listings.
  • Motivate a multiโ€‘functional team covering all aspects of Walmartโ€™s business (omni sales, supply chain, replenishment, etc.).
  • Develop strategic business partnerships across multiple Walmart departments.
  • Guide others in understanding and acting upon customer, consumer, and industry insights.
  • Create and deliver creative customer presentations to achieve incremental opportunities.
  • Seek, create, and develop new business opportunities to build brand consumption.
  • Develop and execute effective accountโ€‘specific marketing programs.
  • Demonstrate detailed forecasting skills and accuracy.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Owner/entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Ability to manage 1โ€“5 employees.
  • Appropriate people skills and emotional intelligence.
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of related sales experience (CPG experience a plus).
  • 5+ years making the direct call on Walmart/Samโ€™s Club.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Strong knowledge of sales function processes and crossโ€‘functional exposure to other business operations.
  • Knowledge of the consumerโ€‘packaged goods (CPG) industry.
  • Strong knowledge of syndicated data and customer manager process, as well as Microsoft Office and Retail Link.
