Job Description Summary:
Capstone Partners is seeking an Associate on the Market Intelligence/Lead Generation team to conduct research on and author outbound market intelligence reports. The reports are essential to Capstone's business development and brand recognition and are used by thousands of business owners, alliance partners, private equity groups, and news outlets as a valuable source of M&A information.
There are five departments within Capstone' Partner's Lead Generation team:
Market Intelligence, Business Development, Sponsor Coverage, Buy-Side Mandates and Corporate Partner Referrals.
The Associate will work closely with the firm's Managing Directors and Directors in 1-3 designated industries to produce reports and articles for outbound business development. Additional opportunities include writing commentary for the Quarterly Middle Market M&A Update, attending trade shows to build industry knowledge and Business Development skills, coaching junior team members, and assisting senior members of the team on research projects as needed.
Applicants should have 2-3 years of business writing, market research, economic reporting, or other relevant work experience. Specific knowledge in one of Capstone's 12 industry coverage areas is preferred and should be noted in the application.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Publish market intelligence reports, articles, and surveys
  • Lead primary research projects including proprietary surveys
  • Analyze micro and macro-economic trends for M&A impact
  • Write research reports and articles for external publication
  • Work collaboratively with Lead Generation Services and Banking Teams
  • Support senior members of the team on project execution

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree, preferably Economics, Finance, English, or Business
  • 2+ years of experience in related field

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Keen research and critical thinking abilities
  • Self-motivated individual who can work successfully both independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work on multiple projects on deadline
  • Strong work ethic and high degree of integrity, discretion, and confidentiality
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint
  • Familiarity with Capital IQ, FactSet, and Pitchbook a plus
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States - E-Verify Employer
  • Ability to pass a Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) background check with fingerprinting to be associated with the broker dealer. Not required to become a registered representative

Compensation Range:
$70,000-105,000 Annual Salary
The compensation range represents the anticipated low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and education. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
