Job description

$47,000.00 - $65,000.00 annually
$2000 Sign on bonus
$47,000-60,000 for Bachelors
$50,000-65,000 for Masters
Full Time and Part Time opportunities available
Must be NY State Certified
Position Summary: Classroom and special area teachers deliver direct instruction in their assigned curriculum areas, aligned with New York State Learning Standards and tailored to the individual strengths and challenges of each student. In their classrooms, teachers create a highly structured, safe, and therapeutic environment that promotes cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, giving each student the opportunity to achieve success.
Responsibilities:
  • Establish and maintain a positive relationship with students and colleagues
  • Create and implement lesson plans in accordance with New York State Learning Standards.
  • Ensure the instructional needs of each individual student are met in accordance with the Individualized Education Plan (IEP) or 504 Accommodation Plan
  • Create necessary planning documents as prescribed by specific program guidelines based upon formal and informal assessment of students' strengths and challenges
  • Complete required reports and documentation on time
  • Attend all required training and development

Requirements
Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree required

Experience:
  • 2 years of teaching experience required
  • NYS Teacher Certification required
  • Certification in Special Education preferred
