Position Overview

The Event Producer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing catering events and special dining experiences, from initial concept through post-event follow-up.

This role ensures high-level event execution by managing logistics, vendor coordination, and on-site production while delivering an elevated guest experience.

ResponsibilitiesEvent Planning & Production (40%)
  • Plan, coordinate, and produce catering events and special dining experiences from concept to completion

  • Develop event timelines, run-of-show documents, rental orders, layouts, BEOs, station diagrams and other production plans
  • Manage on-site event execution, ensuring all elements meet quality and timing expectations
  • Troubleshoot issues in real time and make adjustments to ensure seamless delivery
Client Management (25%)
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during the event planning and execution process

  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand client objectives, preferences, and budgets
  • Provide creative recommendations for menus, themes, and event formats
  • Ensure client satisfaction through proactive communication and post-event follow-up
Cross-Functional Coordination (25%)
  • Collaborate with Culinary, Operations, and FOH teams on menu development, staffing, and logistics

  • Ensure on-budget event execution, meeting KPI targets and upselling profitable services
  • Coordinate with external vendors for rentals, decor, AV, and specialty services
  • Support the sales and account management team with site visits, tastings, and proposal development
Operations & Reporting (10%)
  • Maintain accurate event records, contracts, and post-event summaries

  • Track event metrics including client satisfaction, revenue, and operational performance
  • Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support business priorities and ensure successful event execution
Required Qualifications
  • 3-5+ years of event production or event management experience

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience managing catering events, corporate events, or large-scale food service events
  • Excellent communication and client-facing skills
  • Ability to manage budgets, timelines, and multiple events simultaneously
  • A commitment to personal accountability and continuous learning
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as events require
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in corporate catering, hospitality, or food service event production

  • Established vendor relationships in the NYC events space
  • Experience with CRM or event management platforms
  • Experience with project management software (Asana preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Role Details

Title: Event Producer

Location: Hybrid (NYC); onsite for events

Schedule: Monday-Friday; frequent evenings and weekends required for events

Reports to: Director of Catering

Compensation: $70,000-$80,000 base + bonus potential
