Job Specifics
  • Location: 1970 S Ridge Rd, Green Bay, WI 54304
  • Hours: 40 hours/week
  • FTE Status: 1.0 FTE, Full-Time
  • Work Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional weekends. Primarily working 1PM - 9PM, but can work other times when work demands.

Job Description:
  • The duties of the athletic trainer include, but are not limited to, prevention of athletic injuries, recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries, rehabilitation and reconditioning of athletic injuries, health care administration, and professional development and responsibility as specified in the Domains of the NATA Certified Athletic Trainer.
  • The athletic trainer serves as a liaison between physicians, coaches, athletes, and parents.
  • The athletic trainer ensures that players participate only when physically able and that any physician instructions are understood and followed.
  • The athletic trainer will coordinate with the Sports Medicine team and the Athletic Director to ensure staffing of the athletic training room and coverage for all required events.

Primary Functions:
  • Exercise supervisory responsibility for student athlete safety and discretion in making meaningful safety and health decisions.
  • Provide first aid, injury assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and prevention for students.
  • Act decisively and prudently in emergency and life-threatening situations.
  • Provide coverage at home events and practices.
  • Conduct IMPACT testing, organization, and clearance for all teams.
  • Develop and implement injury management protocols and emergency action plans.
  • Provide injury reports to coaches and other school personnel and parents on injuries and status of student athletes under treatment.
  • Maintain all forms, reports, and medical records and treatment logs related to athletic injuries, student rehabilitation, and any required athletic clearance.
  • Provide injury reports to coaches and/or other school personnel on injuries and status of student athletes with severe injuries.
  • Acting as liaison between coaches, parent(s) and athletes in injury matters.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and effective athletic training room.
  • Attends practices and events daily for select sports.
  • Occasionally travel with teams to away meets, events, and competitions.

Position Responsibilities:
  • Care for injuries using physical therapy equipment, techniques and medication.
  • Evaluate readiness to return to daily activities, coordinate clearances when necessary and warranted.
  • Responsible for athletic training outreach.
  • Communication with school staff and parents/guardian on status of patients.
  • On site healthcare provider for assigned school.
  • Support Bellin Health Athletic Training Services.

Qualifications:
  • Current Wisconsin state Athletic Trainer license required, or eligible to apply for.
  • Must have BOC certification in good standing.
  • Must have valid driver's license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • First Aid, AED, BLS (Healthcare Provider) certification required.
  • Experience in the ATC field preferred, but previous experience is not required.
  • Some travel required.
