The Position: Operations Manager

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervising Line Supervisors 
  • Overseeing the production team 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Build an engaged, professional, and high-performing culture with a focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Direct all work in operations including production, training and scheduling.
  • Drive KPIs in Safety, Quality, Inventory, Productivity and People on the Production Floor in collaboration with support departments (Engineering, Quality, Logistics, HR and Repair) 
  • Foster a continuous improvement mindset in all areas of production through the deployment and execution of Lean Manufacturing Principles and Problem-Solving
  • Coach, motivate and lead a diverse team of employees, supervisors and leads through development activities for their growth and development.
  • Identify areas of growth and implement action plans to drive efficiency
  • Champion a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Lead by example. Lead by serving your team. 
  • Plan daily production according to customer schedule, the company's needs and outside circumstances.
  • Locate areas of improvement in the production department and propose corrective actions that meet challenges and leverage growth opportunities.
  • Act as main point of contact for the customer for all issues concerning production.


Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Demonstrated success leading manufacturing teams in fast paced environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate complex matters in an easily understandable manner to different audiences.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills such as active listening. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to learn, and stay up to date, with manufacturing best practices
  • Capable of deriving and understanding data from a variety of sources and the ability to make independent suggestions based on that data.
  • Ability to learn the assembly line and processes
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Prefer a degree in Engineering or a relatable field. 
  • Required 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Required, leadership experience. 

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to frequently travel, both to domestic and international destinations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
