Partner with the best

In this role, you will partner with Sales, Product Management, Marketing and Customer Success to ensure customers have full sales support. Providing strategic direction and operational management to ensure teams are organized to maximize efficiencies and effectiveness. Demonstrating leadership, interpersonal and business skills to positively impact security bookings, grow our account base, revenue and retention.

As a Senior Director Solutions Engineering API, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing direction to your pre-sales Leads and Managers and working with them in strategic planning.
  • Communicating the team\'s direction, goals and progress to sales and pre-sales leadership.
  • Leading initiatives that help build the capabilities of the team to introduce new products to our customers.
  • Owning and developing a diverse suite of reports and analytics to build holistic and data-driven strategies.
  • Partnering with internal cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and ensure customer satisfaction.

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have 15 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Solutions Engineering, MIS or its equivalent.
  • Demonstrate experience managing global technical teams, including performance management, career coaching, mentoring, and developing future leaders and managers.
  • Have experience managing the technical opportunity sales cycle.
  • Demonstrate expertise in API architectures, gateways, identity frameworks, and mastery of cloud-native ecosystems like Kubernetes, Docker, Service Mesh, AI Security.
  • Demonstrate expertise in networking protocols, enterprise cybersecurity tools, API discovery, and security testing aligned with OWASP API Top 10 standards.
  • Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to interact effectively with all levels throughout the organization.
  • Demonstrate ability to build alignment, trust, and productive relationships with cross-functional stakeholders.

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $190,700 - $343,300/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
