Job Description

The technician will be responsible for completing manufacture of various solutions and media per written formulation instructions, adhering to facility SOPs and complying with regulatory standards.  In addition, the technician will complete the training for the manufacturing operations group and fill in as needed during production runs.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage own time and professional development, and be accountable for own results.
  • Prioritize own workflow.
  • Execute manufacturing of solutions and media in compliance with cGMP regulations and SOPs.
  • Execute unit operations in the manufacturing operations group, including cell culture and fermentation, column chromatography, and ultrafiltration.
  • Increase efficiency of the solutions prep group through review of daily practices and implementation of solutions to fix common issues.
  • Perform troubleshooting of solutions prep equipment and operations.
  • Report any deviation or observation that might lead to adverse impact to product quality.
Qualifications

Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

  • Candidates within a commutable distance of Chesterfield, MO are encouraged to apply
  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum 2+ years in a manufacturing setting.  This can be in a chemical plant, biologics pilot plant, clinical manufacturing plant, or any combination thereof.
  • Technical knowledge of how to calculate and prepare basic buffer solutions.
  • Some knowledge of biologics manufacturing unit operations.
  • General chemistry background (e.g. understanding of Henderson-Hasselbalch equations, conductivity, and osmolality).
  • Knowledge of maintenance and calibration of pressure-rated tanks, large scales, heat exchangers, and water systems.
  • Experience in cGMP compliance as related to manufacture of solutions and media.
  • Experience in electronic systems for recording data, including formulation records and logbooks.
  • Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong workload planning skills, organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time.
  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint software programs, or equivalent.
