International Door Products (or IDP), an ASSA ABLOY branded company is looking to add an experienced Accounting Manager to the team. This is a newly created role reporting to the Director, Accounting and Financial Analysis and is based onsite at our manufacturing facility in Detroit, Michigan. What would you do as our Accounting Manager?

You will handle financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. This is initially an individual contributor role, requiring a hands‑on approach and a strong ownership mindset. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in accounting and finance, strong communication skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.

You will also:
  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
  • Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements
  • Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate balance sheet schedules
  • Conduct customer and vendor account reconciliations
  • Analyze variances against budget and forecast, providing actionable insights
  • Evaluate the payback of capital investments through detailed financial analysis and clear articulation of investment benefits
  • Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal controls, and regulatory requirements
  • Assist with audits and regulatory filings
  • Utilize financial systems such as QuickBooks, JD Edwards, and OneStream (experience preferred)
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements to support growth objectives
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate governance policies, AADG programs and policies, and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field (MBA, CPA, or CMA a plus)
  • 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles
  • Strong hands‑on experience with financial reporting, reconciliations, and variance analysis
  • Prior experience working under strict reporting deadlines
  • Proficiency in MS Excel; experience with QuickBooks, JD Edwards, and OneStream preferred
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment required, ideally in an industrial goods enterprise with multiple locations
  • Effective communicator with a growth mindset and ability to work independently
