Job description:

Overview:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of others.

Duties:
- Assist individuals with daily activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication administration
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Promote independence and encourage participation in community activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of individuals at all times
- Document and report any changes in behavior or health status
- Adhere to resident rights and maintain confidentiality according to HIPAA regulations
- Assist with transportation to medical appointments, outings, or other scheduled activities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in home care, nursing home, or working with people with developmental disabilities is preferred
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks as needed
- Knowledge of patient care techniques and first aid procedures
- Familiarity with hospice care principles is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
