About the opportunity:

The Marketing Manager, Direct Mail is responsible for leading the strategy, planning, execution, and optimization of MillerKnoll's direct mail program across our portfolio of retail brands. This role will oversee the day-to-day management of all direct mail initiatives, ensuring programs are delivered on time, on budget, and aligned to brand and commercial objectives.

This individual will partner closely with Brand Marketing, Merchandising, Analytics, Creative, CRM, Retail, and E-Commerce teams to develop highly targeted and effective campaigns that drive customer acquisition, engagement, store traffic, and revenue growth. The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with analytical rigor, creative sensibility, customer marketing, and print production.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end direct mail program across multiple retail brands, including campaign planning, calendar management, creative coordination, production, audience targeting, and deployment.

  • Manage day-to-day execution of direct mail campaigns, ensuring operational excellence across timelines, approvals, vendor management, and budget tracking.

  • Partner with Analytics and CRM teams to define segmentation strategies, customer audiences, testing frameworks, and performance measurement approaches.

  • Collaborate with Brand Marketing and Creative teams to ensure campaigns reflect each brand's voice, positioning, and seasonal priorities.

  • Work closely with Merchandising and E-Commerce teams to align direct mail programs with product launches, promotional moments, assortment priorities, and customer journeys.

  • Develop and optimize test-and-learn strategies across format, cadence, personalization, offer structure, and targeting to improve program effectiveness over time.

  • Analyze campaign performance and customer behavior to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for continuous improvement.

  • Manage relationships with external agencies, printers, mail houses, and data partners to ensure quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Support the development of annual direct mail strategies, forecasting, and investment planning.

  • Maintain strong cross-functional communication and operating rhythms across marketing, retail, analytics, and creative stakeholders.

  • Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in direct mail, CRM, and omnichannel customer engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in direct mail, CRM, lifecycle marketing, or integrated retail marketing.

  • Experience managing complex, multi-campaign marketing programs with multiple stakeholders and timelines.

  • Strong understanding of direct mail production, print processes, audience segmentation, and campaign operations.

  • Experience working within retail, consumer, luxury, or design-led brands preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally in a matrixed organization.

  • Strong communication and project management skills.

  • Experience with CRM, marketing automation, customer analytics, or audience management platforms preferred.

  • Operates with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.

  • Balances strategic thinking with strong executional rigor and follow-through.

  • Builds strong partnerships across functions and brands to drive alignment and results.

  • Uses data and customer insights to inform decisions and improve performance.
