Director of Direct Mail - Townsquare Ignite

The Director of Direct Mail Opportunity:

As Director of Direct Mail, you will serve as the strategic and revenue-driving leader for our Direct Mail product line. This is a high-impact sales role focused on generating your own new business while acting as the internal subject matter expert and revenue partner for our Townsquare markets.

You will drive revenue growth in two key ways: by prospecting and closing new Direct Mail opportunities directly with clients, and by partnering closely with Account Executives and market sellers to develop, pitch, and close Direct Mail opportunities within their existing client portfolios and new business opportunities. A significant portion of your success in this role will come from assisting sellers in-market-helping identify opportunities, shaping strategy, joining sales conversations, and ultimately driving incremental revenue through collaborative deal execution.

You will play a critical role in unlocking new revenue streams across our markets by equipping sellers with the confidence, strategy, and expertise needed to position Direct Mail as part of a comprehensive, full-funnel marketing solution. This includes identifying high-potential accounts, building targeted campaigns, and supporting sellers throughout the sales cycle-from initial strategy to close.

This role requires a deep understanding of programmatic marketing and audience targeting, with specific expertise in data-driven Direct Mail solutions. You must be comfortable operating as both a hunter and a revenue enabler-building your own pipeline while actively supporting sellers to accelerate deal velocity and maximize market-level revenue.

This is a fast-paced, client-facing leadership role that blends individual production, collaborative selling, and sales enablement to create scalable success across our markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive Direct Mail revenue growth through self-generated new business and market collaboration
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline, consistently achieving and exceeding sales goals
  • Serve as the Direct Mail subject matter expert across our markets
  • Educate and train Account Executives and sales teams on product positioning, targeting capabilities, best practices, and case studies
  • Partner with local sellers on client strategy, prospecting, proposal development, and closing
  • Conduct compelling virtual and in-person presentations that demonstrate expertise in programmatic audience targeting and data-driven Direct Mail solutions
  • Identify cross-channel opportunities that integrate Direct Mail with digital, CTV, search, and social campaigns
  • Leverage data and insights to create strategic marketing recommendations tailored to each client's goals
  • Take ownership of the full sales cycle, including pre-sale strategy and post-sale performance analysis
  • Interpret campaign reporting and provide actionable optimization recommendations to drive incremental revenue
  • Act as a strategic sales leader-creating scalable solutions that generate immediate results and long-term value for Townsquare

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of exceeding sales quotas in digital or performance-based marketing environments
  • Demonstrated experience selling programmatic marketing solutions
  • Direct Mail experience required, specifically data-driven or programmatic Direct Mail solutions
  • Strong new business development background with a hunter mentality
  • Ability to simplify complex marketing strategies into clear, compelling client solutions
  • Experience training, mentoring, or coaching sales teams preferred
  • Advanced understanding of audience targeting, first-party data, attribution, and full-funnel strategy
  • Superior presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel
  • BA/BS degree (required)
  • IAB Certification (preferred)
