Job description


The Market Operations Associate is responsible for the daily operation, appearance, inventory, and administrative support of multiple campus markets. This position ensures markets are fully stocked, clean, operational, and properly maintained while supporting ordering, inventory management, sales reporting, invoice verification, and delivery receiving.
Job Responsibilities
Daily Market Operations
  • Conduct daily checks of assigned markets to ensure products are stocked, organized, fresh, and properly displayed.
  • Monitor product levels and identify items requiring replenishment or reordering.
  • Transfer products between locations as needed to reduce waste, prevent expiration, and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
  • Ensure all markets are clean, organized, and maintained to operational standards.
  • Complete daily sales entry for assigned locations in EBT.
  • Monitor email communications and respond to or follow up on operational needs.

Inventory & Ordering
  • Conduct weekly inventory counts and accurately enter inventory information.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders based on established ordering schedules.
  • Place Core-Mark, Coke, and Sysco orders according to required deadlines.
  • Verify deliveries for accuracy, quantity, and product condition.
  • Report missing, damaged, or incorrect products and ensure discrepancies are addressed.
  • Review and verify invoices in BirchStreet for accuracy and completion.

Equipment & Sanitation
  • Complete daily Monday-Friday cleaning of the Burton Morgan coffee machine according to manufacturer procedures.
  • Follow established cleaning and sanitation procedures and use designated cleaning supplies.
  • Complete routine cleaning of the Terminal Market coffee machine on a weekly or biweekly basis.
  • Maintain equipment and market areas in a clean, safe, and presentable condition

Qualifications
• Must read, write, and understand verbal instructions
• Must complete a sanitation course either before or during first year
• Must be knowledgeable in operating an efficient cost-effective program.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic
• Maintain emotional control under stress
• Ability to resolve interpersonal situations
• Strong organizational skills
