CLA is growing and seeking to hire an experienced Lead Modern Workplace SharePoint Engineer to join our talented Information Technology team. The position offers growth, flexibility and a collaborative work environment.

The Lead SharePoint Engineer serves as the technical leader and subject matter expert for SharePoint Online, Microsoft 365 collaboration services, and content management solutions. This role leads the architecture, engineering, governance, and support of enterprise collaboration platforms that drive knowledge sharing, employee engagement, business process automation, and secure content management across the firm. The engineer partners closely with Enterprise Architecture, Security, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions utilizing SharePoint Online, Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, Copilot, Power Platform, and related Microsoft technologies.

How you'll create opportunities in this Lead Modern Workplace SharePoint Engineer role:

  • Lead the architecture, design, implementation, and ongoing optimization of SharePoint Online across the enterprise.
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams integrations, and Microsoft 365 collaboration services.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise SharePoint governance frameworks, site provisioning standards, content lifecycle policies, information architecture, and metadata strategies.
  • Lead intranet, portal, document management, knowledge management, and collaboration platform initiatives.
  • Design and implement scalable content management solutions supporting business operations, employee experience, and client engagement.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into modern Microsoft 365 solutions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture standards.
  • Drive SharePoint modernization efforts including migrations from legacy platforms, file shares, and on-premises SharePoint environments.-
  • Lead the integration of SharePoint with Power Platform, Microsoft Copilot, Viva, ServiceNow, CRM systems, and other enterprise applications.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Power Automate workflows, Power Apps solutions, and automated business processes leveraging SharePoint as a core platform.
  • Establish and maintain enterprise content governance, retention, records management, and compliance capabilities in partnership with Risk, Legal, and Information Security teams.
  • Collaborate with security teams to implement appropriate permissions models, data protection controls, sensitivity labels, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers, administrators, and project teams utilizing Microsoft collaboration technologies.
  • Lead platform health monitoring, capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational support activities.
  • Drive application lifecycle management activities including testing, deployment, release management, and continuous improvement.
  • Evaluate emerging Microsoft 365 technologies and provide strategic recommendations regarding SharePoint, Copilot, AI-enabled collaboration, and employee experience platforms.
  • Develop technical standards, reference architectures, operational procedures, and engineering documentation.
  • Support strategic initiatives involving data rooms, deal rooms, client collaboration portals, intranet modernization, and digital workplace transformation.

What you will need:

  • 6 years relevant experience required
  • 8 years of SharePoint and Microsoft 365 engineering experience preferred
  • 5+ years of SharePoint Online experience preferred
  • Experience leading enterprise-scale Microsoft 365 implementations and migrations preferred
  • Experience developing governance, information architecture, and content management strategies preferred
  • Experience integrating SharePoint with Power Platform and Microsoft Copilot preferred
  • Experience supporting large-scale enterprise collaboration and document management platforms preferred
  • Bachelor's degree or a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered in lieu of a degree.

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: 108,000.00 - $185,000.00
