The University of Texas at Dallas has an excellent job opportunity for individuals looking to join the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science team as the Outreach & Digital Media Events Specialist for the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering.

This position is responsible for promoting the department and brand awareness through the creation and production of communications/marketing materials, graphic design/web design, and outreach efforts including social media for the Electrical/Computer Engineering Department. Continuing to expand the department brand supports and enhances graduate student recruitment, the student experience, and visibility. Additionally, this position leads planning, organization, and facilitation of departmental events in collaboration with the administrative team.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in marketing, communication or closely related field; Three (3) or more years of digital marketing and social media experience; Two (2) or more years event/project planning experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite (especially Illustrator and Photoshop) and InDesign.
  • Experience creating, posting, and tracking the performance metrics of social media posts on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Experience scripting, filming, and editing videos. Audio editing experience

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead design and execution of department social media presence.
  • Identify communications and marketing needs in collaboration with departmental leadership and academic team.
  • Collaborate with department staff to plan, organize, and execute department events.
  • Design and create appropriate content and materials (electronic, print, etc.) to meet department's promotional needs.
  • Design strategies to increase department's visibility at all levels (local to national).
  • Maintain departmental social media feeds with updates made daily.
  • Compile performance metrics of social media posts and other communications.
  • Maintain and update departmental website.
  • Maintain production schedule and meet timelines.
  • Collaborate with communications offices across campus.
  • Remain up to date on university's brand standards/communications policies and social media best practices.
  • Other duties as assigned.
