Job Summary/Description:

This position works on multiple platforms: producing news content for digital platforms and producing content for on-air. Duties will include acquiring content and producing content for on-air and digital platforms.

Duties/Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Shoot, edit, and publish compelling video for digital and broadcast platforms, including turning same-day stories quickly under deadline.
* Write and produce digital-first story packages (headlines, captions, web copy, and social copy) optimized for engagement and accuracy.
* Cover breaking news in the field and in-house; coordinate with producers/reporters to ensure strong storytelling across TV, web, app, and social/OTT.
* Maintain high journalistic standards (fact-checking, attribution, ethics) and follow Gray/KTIV editorial and AI-use guidelines.
* Manage equipment (camera/phone kits, mics, lighting) and basic troubleshooting; maintain organized media workflows and file naming.
* Track performance (views, retention, shares) and use data to improve future content and story selection.

Qualifications/Requirements:

* 1–3+ years creating video content in a newsroom, sports, or digital media environment (editing-heavy roles a plus) are preferred but not essential.
* Proficiency with video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro/Final Cut) and strong fundamentals in shooting, lighting, and audio.
* Excellent news judgment and the ability to write clear, conversational copy suited for digital audiences.
* Comfortable publishing to CMS/social platforms and working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven setting (nights/weekends/holidays as needed).
* Valid driver’s license and ability to lift/carry typical field gear.
* Team-first attitude, strong communication skills, and willingness to learn new workflows and platforms.
* Producing content for on-air newscasts is beneficial
