Purpose:

The video editor plays a critical role in WRCB’s news operation by coordinating video editing resources, executing high-quality edits for newscasts and special reports, and managing incoming satellite and live video feeds. This position supports the newsroom’s mission to deliver accurate, timely, and visually compelling news content. If interested, Local 3's online application can be found here. Duties and Tasks:

? Coordinate editing assignments for early newscasts.

? Edit video content for daily newscasts, news updates, promotions, and special reports.

? Operate and monitor the station’s news feed systems, ensuring the accurate capture of live video

content.

? Maintain the technical quality and operation of editing bays.

? Select and archive special video content for future use.

? Video Editing (75%): Coordinate and execute video editing tasks under deadline pressure for

newscasts, updates, promotions, and special series.

? News Feed Operations (15%): Operate feed station equipment and record incoming video from

satellite and microwave transmissions.

? Shooting/Reporting (5%): As needed and after completing editing responsibilities, shoot and report

news content in the field.

? Maintenance and Quality Control (5%): Maintain edit bay standards and report technical issues to

appropriate departments.

Qualifications:

? Strong video editing ability, including storytelling, pacing, and visual composition.

? Ability to edit various formats such as packages and voice-overs for on-air broadcast.

? Sound judgment and quick decision-making under deadline pressure.

? Familiarity with editing systems and live feed technologies.

? Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

? High level of creativity required for editing daily news content.

? Ability to develop visually engaging content that supports the station’s storytelling goals.

Education & Training:

? High school diploma required.
