Job description

$85,000.00 - $100,000.00
Contact Information: Casey Ryan - casey.ryan@curiowellness.com,
At Curio Wellness we empower people to thrive by adapting plant nature to human nature. We are committed to transforming the conversation around cannabis, fostering a deeper understanding of its benefits, and ensuring that every product we offer meets the highest standards.
Be bold. Be exceptional. Be well.
This is a hands-on, technical marketing role focused on building, deploying, and measuring digital campaigns across email, SMS, web, and paid media. It is a platform-and-analysis role - content creation is a plus, not the core of the job.
The Digital Marketing Manager owns the marketing technology and automation that power customer acquisition and retention for the Curio Wellness brand and our retail dispensaries in Maryland and Missouri. This is a builder's role: you will own our CRM and email/SMS automation platforms end to end, architect the automated customer journeys that move people from first touch through repeat purchase and loyalty, and keep the data flowing cleanly between our CRM, e-commerce/web, and analytics tools.
You will be responsible for turning campaign performance into decisions - defining the metrics that matter, building the reporting that tracks them, and making the optimization calls that grow traffic, market share, and revenue. You will work hands-on inside the platforms yourself rather than briefing an agency, and you will build the scalable processes and self-serve systems that let marketing move faster as we expand our footprint.
You will lead the optimization and growth of our own digital channels email, SMS, website, and app - collaborate with the Social Media Manager on organic social, and partner with retail operations and market-level Marketing Managers to align execution with local needs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Own and administer the marketing automation / CRM platform end to end - configuration, journey architecture, triggers, and audience/segment management
  • Build, deploy, and QA automated email and SMS journeys - welcome, nurture, win-back, abandoned-cart, and loyalty flows
  • Own segmentation, list hygiene, deliverability, and A/B testing across email and SMS
  • Build reporting and dashboards; define and monitor the metrics that measure channel performance (open, click, conversion, revenue per send, retention) and make data-driven optimization recommendations
  • Own the integrations and clean data flow between CRM, e-commerce/web, and analytics platforms
  • Build scalable, self-serve processes for digital customer communications to create leverage as we grow our footprint
  • Manage all digital marketing channels, including websites, email, SMS, and digital advertising
  • Build customer acquisition programs to grow the size of our addressable ecosystem
  • Plan and execute digital campaigns for product launches, promotions, and brand/dispensary events
  • Develop and execute digital growth strategies such as display, targeted programming, and co-marketing with 3rd-party dispensaries
  • Oversee SEO/SEM strategies to improve website visibility and drive organic traffic
  • Manage and optimize our presence on key cannabis platforms - Leafly, Weedmaps, and Jane
  • Develop and manage digital marketing budgets to maximize ROI
  • Collaborate with retail operations and retail Marketing Managers to align initiatives with local market needs
  • Manage relationships with marketing vendors, agencies, and technology partners
  • Ensure all campaigns comply with state cannabis marketing regulations, and stay informed of regulatory changes in the states where we operate
  • Monitor digital media trends, tactics, and tools, and make recommendations to maintain brand relevancy
  • Create or coordinate campaign content as needed (nice to have; may be produced with internal creative or agency support)

QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • 5+ years in digital marketing, marketing operations, or lifecycle/CRM marketing in a B2C retail, CPG, or DTC environment
  • Hands-on experience owning a marketing automation / CRM platform (e.g., Klaviyo, Iterable, Braze, HubSpot, Alpine IQ, or similar) - building the automations and flows yourself, not briefing an agency
  • Track record building infrastructure and repeatable process, not just running one-off campaigns
  • Specific, hands-on experience with email (and ideally SMS) marketing - building, deploying, and optimizing based on performance
  • Comfort with analytics tooling (GA4 or similar) and building your own reports; SQL a plus
  • Experience with segmentation, deliverability, and A/B testing methodology
  • Proven ability to develop strategic recommendations and present them to leadership
  • Data-driven thinking and an affinity for numbers
  • A mindset of Extreme Ownership - taking full responsibility for outcomes
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to translate between technical detail and business outcomes
  • Ability to shift priorities quickly and jump in where needed
  • Content-creation ability is a plus, not a core requirement
  • Experience with a cannabis-compliant SMS/CRM platform (e.g., Alpine IQ, SpringBig) is a plus but not required - platform fluency transfers, and we will train the cannabis-specific piece
  • Cannabis industry experience a plus

Education and Experience:
