Job Summary
Position monitors Ingram Library during extended hours on Friday evenings. These positions are responsible for patrolling the library throughout shifts, resolving incidents with assistance from University Police, securing the building at close, and monitoring the number of library users. These positions will record usage statistics and submit incident and activity reports, as needed. This is a space monitoring position. There are no library services during the shift.
Required Qualifications
  • Applicants must have completed coursework equivalent to Sophomore standing and have a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
  • Must be currently enrolled at UWG in a minimum of 6 credit hours
  • Shifts are from 4:30pm-11:00pm on Fridays.
  • Applicants must be available to work necessary hours as well as attend mandatory on-boarding training that could occur in the morning or afternoon.

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions
  • Must be able to work evening shifts with occasional morning or evening training.
  • Must be able to stand or sit in fixed positions for extended periods of time while maintaining awareness of surroundings.
  • Must be able to hear normal radio and voice communications and to communicate clearly.
  • Must have a neat and professional personal appearance.
  • Must be able to work effectively with both a diverse workforce and community.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience with closing procedures for establishments.
  • Training or experience in conflict resolution.
