Job Summary
We are seeking a Host/Hostess to join the team at our thriving restaurant in Pacific Beach. In this role, you will welcome guests, lead them to their seats, and manage all reservation portals. Your goal is to quickly build rapport with patrons and make them feel welcome. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, and committed to providing an exceptional dining experience. 

Responsibilities
  • Managing platforms like OpenTable or Yelp to schedule, confirm, and update reservations
  • Use digital floor plans to track table status (clean, dirty, occupied) in real time to optimize turnover
  • Answering phone lines to take food orders and organizing to-go orders for pickup.
  • Balancing the workload across different sections of the restaurant to prevent servers from being overwhelmed
  • Assisting servers or bussers by clearing tables, wiping down menus, and restocking silverware during high-volume rushes
  • Sanitizing menus, cleaning the hostess station, and cleaning front glass windows and doors as needed.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience as a host/hostess, server, or busser is preferred
  • Friendly and outgoing personality
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including standing for long periods and carrying trays
  • Familiarity with food safety guidelines
