Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for a Director, Data Science and Digital Health - Hematology, Oncologyto join our Data Science and Digital Health team (DSDH) and report to the Head of Hematology & Oncology Data Science. This position will be located at one of our offices in either Spring House PA, Cambridge MA, San Diego CA (La Jolla area), Titusville NJ, or Raritan, NJ.
The Director, Data Science and Digital Health - Hematology, Oncologywill direct and lead efforts to bring innovative approaches to the use of Data Science to support R&D for Early-Stage hematology therapies. Primary responsibilities are to identify and deliver Data Science capabilities to achieve clinical goals in a value-driven manner. This role will contribute to an organizational culture that promotes data-driven decision-making across all functions of Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine - R&D Oncology. A successful candidate will be a business leader for the R&D Data Science team to the Clinical Development Teams (CDTs), where they will apply advanced analytic methodologies (e.g. statistical modeling, AI/Machine Learning) in the drug development process for high-dimensional data, such as real-world evidence. You'll be part of a dynamic, accomplished team that supports the development of novel medicines at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine -Hematology Oncology R&D.

POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Serve as primary business leader for Data Science & Digital Health programs for robust Hematology Oncology Early Development portfolio.
  • Work closely with individual clinical teams as well as functional area partners (e.g., Translational research, Precision Medicine and diagnostics, Regulatory Affairs, Market Access, Clinical Development) to identify and implement end-to-end Data Science solutions aimed at facilitating decision making. (e.g. study design, execution, diagnostic planning and strategy)
  • Develop data and technical requirements to meet research objectives that can include Real-World Evidence, cell profiling, clinical phenotyping, computer vision/medical imaging that leverage technologies such as statistical methodologies, AI/Machine learning techniques (e.g. Generative AI). Orchestrate, drive and deliver technical solutions with internal and external partners.

Required Qualifications:

  • Advance degree in Health Science (Ph.D or MD) or Masters Degree, Pharm D with equivalent work experience in pharmaco-epidemiology, statistics, computational science, outcomes research or related field in health care area.
  • A minimum of 5 years industry experience in drug development or related discipline in the field of biotechnology and biomarkers
  • Prior experience with drug development, in areas such as translational research, clinical studies, or regulatory interactions.
  • Working knowledge of advanced analytic methods, such as statistical modeling, biostatistics, machine learning, and/or other relevant techniques.
  • Familiarity with healthcare relevant datasets, such as EHR/RWD, genomics, insurance claims, and emerging platforms such as cell profiling and medical imaging analytics.
  • Capacity to manage timelines and drive key deliverables in a matrix environment.
  • Established leadership skills, including management of individuals and teams working towards common clinical/scientific goals
  • Consistent track record of managing timelines and driving key results in a matrixed organization
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and written skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency with regulatory submissions and interaction.
  • Experience with emerging, innovative approaches to drug development, such as Generative AI is an asset.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $164,000 to $282,900. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company's consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)).

Employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:
Vacation - up to 120 hours per calendar year
Sick time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
