Job description

Position Title: Senior Digital Engineer
Position Type: Full-time, On-Site
Location: Chantilly, VA

Description:
Waypoint's client is seeking a Senior Digital Engineer to support advanced engineering efforts within a mission-critical environment. This role focuses on leading the application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies to drive system architecture, design, and integration across complex programs.
The selected candidate should have a basic understanding of network and system concepts as they will work closely with senior engineers, developers, and government stakeholders to ensure and create accurate diagram and architecture models and effective system design and implementation.
Responsibilities:
  • Lead the application of MBSE methodologies, tools, and frameworks across system development efforts.
  • Serve as a technical advisor to COTRs, leadership, and engineering teams on system architecture and design.
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee system models using SysML, DoDAF, and UAF frameworks.
  • Refine and decompose system requirements into actionable engineering and development tasks.
  • Support system integration, verification, and validation activities.
  • Ensure alignment of system models with mission needs, architecture standards, and technical requirements.
  • Guide implementation of MBSE best practices across programs and teams.

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM
  • Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
  • Extensive experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools.
  • Strong experience with SysML, DoDAF, and UAF frameworks.
  • Experience supporting system architecture, requirements development, and integration efforts.
  • Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community programs.

Desired:
  • OMG Certified Systems Modeling Language Professional (OCSMP) Level 2 (MBF) or higher.
  • Experience leading MBSE implementations across enterprise-level programs.
  • Experience working in Agile or DevSecOps environments
