Summary
You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the U.S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Guam of NAVAL COMP TELCOM AREA WESTPAC.

Duties
Help

• You will perform voice system/network switch operations and maintenance.
• You will read and interpret technical documents such as electronic schematic drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, and system/sub-system drawings.
• You will provide knowledge of telecommunications equipment, networks, and components, including Digital electronic switching systems, Fiber optic transmission systems, and Network equipment.
• You will provide Hands-on experience in the administration, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications systems and networks.
• You will perform switching network configuration and telephony server management administration functions.
• You will provide programing for unique customer's operation requirement such as call routing, special call handling agents, voice menus announcements and VOIP services.

• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code Technician and Admin Support, proficiency level II the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.

Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by 1. Telecommunications Principles: A deep understanding of telecommunications principles, concepts, methodologies, and practices. 2. Practical Experience: Hands-on experience in the administration, operation, and maintenance of telecommunications systems and networks.
3. Equipment and Systems: Thorough knowledge of telecommunications equipment, networks, and components, including Digital electronic switching systems, Fiber optic transmission systems, and Network equipment. 4. Technical Documentation: The ability to read and interpret technical documents such as electronic schematic drawings, technical manuals, blueprints, and system/sub-system drawings. 5. Interpersonal Skills: The ability to effectively communicate and work with technical personnel, and customers at all levels.
