Your Role on Our Team

As the Web Merchant- you'll be responsible for planning, optimizing, and continuously improving the merchandising of digital experiences across MilwaukeeTool.com to support business, customer, and brand objectives. This role manages how products, systems, solutions, campaigns, and educational content are presented across key website experiences-to help professionals discover the right solutions, build confidence, and connect with distribution partners.

Working cross-functionally with Brand, Product Marketing, Channel, eCommerce, Analytics, UX, and Digital Product teams, this role uses customer insights, analytics, SEO, experimentation, and content strategy to continuously improve on-site engagement, qualified demand generation, and overall digital performance relative to site objectives.

Digital Experience Strategy

  • Develop and execute merchandising strategies that align digital experiences with business objectives, customer needs, and brand priorities.
  • Merchandise website experiences that educate professionals, promote complete solutions and systems, and drive qualified demand to distribution partners.
  • Balance brand storytelling, customer education, and conversion opportunities across all digital experiences on MilwaukeeTool.com.

Website Experience Optimization

  • Own the merchandising strategy for key product-focused customer touchpoints including:
    • Homepage
    • Category Pages
    • Product Listing Pages
    • Product Detail Pages
    • Landing Pages
    • Search experiences
  • Continuously optimize content hierarchy, navigation, featured products, campaigns, and calls-to-action based on customer behavior and performance data.
  • Ensure experiences evolve throughout the customer lifecycle-from awareness through ownership.

Customer & Content Merchandising

  • Identify opportunities to improve discovery of products, applications, systems, accessories, and solutions.
  • Partner with Brand and Product Marketing to prioritize content that improves customer confidence and decision-making.
  • Ensure merchandising strategies support seasonal campaigns, new product introductions, commercial priorities, and market initiatives.
  • Champion system-selling and solution-based merchandising over individual product promotion.

Data, Testing & Personalization

  • Work in partnership with Analytics to identify customer behavior trends and optimization opportunities.
  • Develop merchandising roadmaps informed by analytics, customer research, SEO insights, and experimentation.
  • Utilize A/B testing and personalization capabilities to continuously improve customer engagement and business outcomes.
  • Measure and optimize experiences against defined website KPIs and customer success metrics.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner closely with:
    • Brand Marketing, Product Marketing, Channel & Distribution, eCommerce, UX & Design, Digital Product, Analytics, and Marketing operations to Translate business priorities into digital merchandising strategies.

The TOOLS you'll bring with you:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Commerce, Communications, or related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in digital merchandising, digital marketing, website optimization, product merchandising, UX optimization, or digital product management.
  • Experience managing content and merchandising within modern Content Management Systems.
  • Experience using web analytics platforms (GA4, Adobe Analytics, etc.).
  • Experience interpreting customer behavior data to improve digital experiences.
  • Strong understanding of SEO, content strategy, and customer journey optimization.
  • Experience working within Agile product teams.

Preferred TOOLS

  • Experience with personalization and experimentation platforms.
  • Experience with headless CMS platforms.
  • Experience working with PIM, DAM, and analytics platforms.
  • Experience supporting distributor or partner-based business models.
