Job description

Digital Press Operator (Temp-to-Perm)

Location: Lawrenceville, GA
Schedule: 1st training, transition to 2nd Shift or 3rd shift 
Pay: $22.00–$28.00 per hour, depending on experience
Employment Type: Temp-to-Perm

We are seeking an experienced Digital Press Operator to join our production team. This position is responsible for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting a Barberan Jetmaster Digital Press while producing high-quality printed products that meet customer specifications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain the Barberan Jetmaster Digital Press.
  • Read and interpret job tickets to determine setup specifications and production requirements.
  • Set up print jobs using proper setup techniques.
  • Inspect equipment before and after each production run.
  • Monitor product quality, including print accuracy, size, warp, loose liner, and overall appearance.
  • Maximize machine productivity while maintaining quality standards.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and minor mechanical repairs.
  • Report equipment issues and submit maintenance work orders as needed.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
  • Keep the work area clean, organized, and safe.
  • Remove and replace damaged materials using hand tools when necessary.
  • Assist with training team members on machine setup and operation.
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Support other departments as needed to maximize production efficiency.
  • Follow all safety procedures, standard operating procedures, and PPE requirements.
  • Conduct ink and material testing/requalification as required.
  • Utilize measuring tools and inspection equipment to verify product quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QualificationsEducation
  • High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience operating and maintaining digital printing equipment or equivalent manufacturing experience.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment such as stackers, presses, corrugators, folders, cutters, and gluers is preferred.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of digital printing equipment and processes.
  • Understanding of ink and substrate qualification/testing.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop is preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and color accuracy.
  • Mechanical aptitude with troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and technical manuals.
  • Basic computer skills for entering production data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Experience using measuring devices such as rulers, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Ability to identify common packaging and print defects.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime when needed.
  • Ability to travel internationally for occasional training (less than 10%).
Physical Requirements
  • Frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, and close visual inspection throughout the shift.
  • Frequent use of hands for handling equipment and materials.
  • Occasional bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
