Job description

Department
The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art is located in Sarasota, Florida, and is a department of Florida State University . Learn more about The Ringling at https://www.ringling.org/about-ringling/careers/ .
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the organization, accessibility, and stewardship of the Digital Asset Management (DAM) media library system for The Ringling. Creates and edits compelling content, across various formats, primarily video and photography, that aligns with the museum's mission.
  • Develops, documents, maintains, and tests workflows and governance for uploading, distributing, organizing, cataloging, sharing, and archiving assets in the DAM system. Collaborates with internal stakeholders, including Marketing, Archives, ITS, and Collections, to establish and administer metadata standards, taxonomy, controlled vocabularies, access controls, and retention practices.
  • Serves as functional administrator for the DAM system, staying current on system updates and enhancements. Develops and delivers training, documentation, and best practice guidance to ensure consistent, secure, and compliant use of digital assets across departments. Ensures brand standards, rights management, accessibility considerations, and data integrity. Manage final copies and files of all forms of content for marketing team are maintained.
  • Plans, produces, edits, and delivers photography and videography assets in support of marketing campaigns, events, exhibitions, and programs. Manages the full content lifecycle from concept development through final delivery and archival storage in the DAM system.
  • Prepares production schedules, shot lists, and internal documentation for media projects. Operates professional camera, lighting, audio, and stabilization equipment in accordance with museum guidelines and policies. Coordinates with external photographers and videographers, including contract execution, on site hosting, and verification of deliverables.
  • Monitors trends and emerging best practices in digital asset management and multimedia production to recommend improvements. Assists with other marketing and communications department requests, including assistance with on-site media; performs other duties and projects as assigned that support museum operations. Attends stakeholder meetings as required.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs, lift up to 30 lbs, and walk and stand for periods of time.
  • Valid Florida driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with Digital Asset Management systems
  • Experience in content creation, video and photography
  • Digital Asset Management degree or certification
