OVERVIEW

Arts Bonita is looking for a PART-TIME youth and adult digital arts teacher that can teach various classes in Digital Illustration, Photoshop, Procreate, Filmmaking, Game Design, Graphic Design, and Photography to help build up the Digital Arts education program. This role can grow over time as the Digital Arts program grows. Classes are between 1 and 3 hours in length and services age youth groups ages between 8 and 17 and adults.
This is a year round position because we offer programs in all seasons, including Summer, Winter and Spring camps, along with our traditional Fall and Spring offerings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate Digital Arts curricula across multiple disciplines
  • Plan and lead Digital Arts classes, workshops, and events
  • Teach digital illustration techniques in Photoshop and Procreate
  • Teach photography fundamentals including composition, lighting, and digital photo editing
  • Teach filmmaking techniques including cinematography, directing, and video editing
  • Teach game design principles including concept development, level design, and basic programming
  • Teach graphic design fundamentals and visual communication
  • Provide constructive feedback and encourage students' creativity
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a safe, inclusive environment
  • Assess and evaluate student progress
  • Communicate with parents about student development and progress
  • Stay updated on Digital Arts education trends and techniques
  • Maintain necessary equipment and supplies (tablets, styluses, cameras, software)
  • Collaborate with school administration on budget and scheduling
  • Coordinate with marketing to promote courses
  • Build relationships with the greater community
  • Lead the program into the future and help grow its recognition and impact
QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's degree in digital arts, illustration, graphic design, film, game design, photography, or related field (preferred)
  • Professional experience as a digital artist, illustrator, filmmaker, game designer, or photographer
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Procreate (preferred)
  • Experience with digital media production tools and techniques
  • Prior teaching experience, preferably with youth
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Patience and ability to work well with children and adolescents
  • Creativity and enthusiasm for digital arts
  • Knowledge of various digital arts techniques and styles across multiple disciplines
  • Ability to manage groups and maintain discipline
  • Organizational and time management skills
  • Adaptability and problem-solving abilities
  • Possible background check clearance (standard for working with youth)
