Job description

Job Description:

Join Our Purpose - Feeding the Future

Role: Technical Sales Representative, Feed Additives & Premix

Location: Trouw Nutrition - Western Canada (Calgary, AB or Winnipeg, MB)

Hours/Shift: Mon-Fri (8am-5pm - flexible)

Vacancy Type: New

Why join us

Get ready to Own your career as a Technical Sales Representative at Trouw Nutrition, a Nutreco company. As global leaders in animal nutrition and aquafeed, our shared purpose of Feeding the Future is making a positive global impact for generations to come. Join us in this impactful role and help deliver the production of feed, in a sustainable way to a growing population. Own your direction, Own your development and Own your path.

What you'll do

You'll own a territory (Western Canada) and quota for our specialty feed additives and premix portfolio-prospecting, developing, and closing new business while expanding share with existing accounts. You will build and manage a qualified pipeline (from lead generation through close), run structured discovery to uncover customer needs and buying drivers, and translate technical insights into clear, value-based proposals that win. You'll coordinate and execute on-farm/feed-mill trials as part of the sales process, quantify results and ROI, and move opportunities forward with timely follow-up, objection handling, and stakeholder alignment. You'll run a disciplined sales cadence-account planning, CRM updates, and regular forecast reviews-so leadership has clear visibility to your pipeline and expected close dates. Working closely with species, marketing, manufacturing, quality, and innovation colleagues, you'll support pricing and terms discussions and drive implementation that secures repeatable demand and long-term customer retention.

Who we're looking for

You're a customer-first, commercially driven quota-carrying technical seller who enjoys winning new business and growing strategic accounts. You have a track record of building pipeline and consistently delivering against sales targets by managing a clear sales process from prospecting through close. You can translate animal nutrition and additive application knowledge into simple, compelling value messages that move decisions. You're confident leading customer meetings with producers, veterinarians, nutritionists, and feed partners-qualifying opportunities, aligning to decision criteria, handling objections, negotiating, and securing next steps to close. You operate with strong sales discipline: territory planning, pipeline hygiene, accurate forecasting in CRM, and consistent follow-up. You collaborate well across sales, species, marketing, manufacturing, quality, and innovation teams to deliver trials, implementation, and training that convert into repeat purchases and measurable commercial results.

You'll also need

  • Strong technical foundation in animal nutrition and specialty feed additives, including practical application across feed and water.

  • Proven ability to grow accounts and develop new opportunities with veterinarians, nutritionists, producers, and feed partners-linking technical insights to economic value and purchase decisions.

  • Hands-on capability to lead trials, troubleshoot on-farm/feed-mill issues, and deliver training/presentations that convert opportunities into repeatable results and repeat purchases.

  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills to align decision makers, support negotiations, and drive adoption without direct authority.

  • Sales operating rigor: territory planning, prospecting cadence, pipeline management, and accurate forecasting-using CRM and digital/analytics tools to prioritize work and deliver against targets.

  • Comfortable owning key sales KPIs (quota attainment, pipeline coverage, win rate) and improving forecast accuracy through disciplined deal management.

  • Ability to travel regularly (25-50%) within the territory and spend significant time in the field with customers (on-farm/feed-mill visits, trials, and trainings).

  • Science degree - Animal Science, Life Sciences, or a related field.

What you'll receive

As part of Nutreco, you'll be a member of the SHV family, a diverse group of companies with global footprint. Join us and you'll gain access to a wide network of expertise and global career paths. You'll also benefit from the backing of one of the world's largest privately owned businesses, known for its stability and long-term focus.

In addition, you'll receive

  • Robust pension plan with employer matching that begins on Day 1!

  • Competitive health benefits - Medical/Dental/Vision/HSA, that start on Day 1!

  • Short-term/Long-term Disability and Mental Health spending allowance

  • Maternal top-up and Tuition Reimbursement

  • 15 vacation days to start (tiered)

  • Annual bonus
