Job Summary:
Smarty is a recognized industry leader in address data intelligence, providing enterprise-grade SaaS solutions for address validation, geocoding, and data enrichment. The Digital Analytics Specialist will manage analytics instrumentation, configure Google Tag Manager and GA4, and build reports to support marketing and product teams.
Responsibilities:
• Own and manage Google Tag Manager and analytics instrumentation across our website and applications
• Configure, maintain, and document GA4 events, parameters, and conversions
• Design and maintain a scalable, consistent data layer in partnership with frontend teams
• Debug and validate tracking across browsers, devices, and environments
• Build and maintain core dashboards and reports used by marketing, product, and leadership
• Help stakeholders understand what the data means and how to use it
• Identify gaps in tracking and proactively recommend improvements
• Establish analytics standards, naming conventions, and documentation
• Continue developing your analytics, technical, and communication skills
• Maximize your growth through company-sponsored training, including Arbinger methodologies, and apply what you learn in your work and interactions with others
Qualifications:
Required:
• Hands-on experience with Google Tag Manager (custom triggers, variables, event-based tracking)
• Strong working knowledge of GA4, including event modeling, parameters, and conversions
• Experience designing or working with a JavaScript dataLayer
• Comfort collaborating with frontend engineers and reading JavaScript/DOM code
• Experience building and maintaining dashboards and reports (GA4, Looker, or similar tools)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to translate business questions into measurable analytics solutions
• Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
• Ability to take ownership of projects and see them through to completion
Preferred:
• Server-side GTM or GA4 Measurement Protocol experience
• Experience with BigQuery or data warehouses
• Familiarity with marketing platforms (Google Ads, HubSpot, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Experience with consent management, GDPR, or CCPA consideration
