What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Digital Analytics Analyst, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Digital Analytics Analyst, you need strong analytical skills, a background in statistics or mathematics, and experience with data interpretation, often supported by a relevant degree. Familiarity with tools such as Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, SQL, and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI is typically required. Attention to detail, critical thinking, and effective communication help analysts translate complex data into actionable insights for diverse stakeholders. These skills and qualities are crucial for accurately measuring digital performance, driving business strategy, and supporting data-informed decision-making.

What does a Digital Analytics Analyst do?

A Digital Analytics Analyst collects, analyzes, and interprets data from digital platforms such as websites, social media, and mobile apps to help organizations understand user behavior and improve their online presence. They use tools like Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, and data visualization software to track key performance indicators, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Their work helps businesses optimize marketing strategies, enhance user experiences, and make data-driven decisions.

Is 40 too old to become a data analyst?

Age is not a barrier to becoming a data analyst, and many professionals transition into this role later in their careers. Success depends on acquiring relevant skills such as data visualization, SQL, and statistical analysis, often through online courses or certifications, regardless of age.

How much does a digital analyst earn?

The average salary for a digital analytics analyst typically ranges from $60,000 to $90,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and industry. Will AI replace a data analyst?

AI can automate routine data processing and basic analysis tasks, but the role of a digital analytics analyst involves interpreting complex data, providing strategic insights, and communicating findings, which require human judgment and domain expertise. AI tools like machine learning models support analysts but do not fully replace the need for skilled professionals who understand business context and can adapt to new challenges.

What are some common challenges Digital Analytics Analysts face when collaborating with cross-functional teams?

Digital Analytics Analysts often work closely with marketing, product, and IT teams to gather data, interpret results, and provide actionable insights. A common challenge in this collaboration is ensuring that data definitions and metrics are consistent across departments, as misalignment can lead to inaccurate reporting. Job description

Role Summary
Nuuly is seeking a Digital Analyst, Acquisition to join the Digital Analytics team! This role will focus on the intersection of marketing performance and on-site behavior. This role is specifically designed to bridge the gap between upstream marketing activity, paid channels, email, SEO, organic, etc., and what happens on-site. You will dig into how different audiences find Nuuly, how they browse and convert, and what the data tells us about optimal acquisition paths. You'll work closely with the Nuuly Marketing team and report to our Senior Analytics Manager, while collaborating with the broader Digital Analytics team on shared measurement infrastructure.
The Analytics team brings data-driven insights to every function at Nuuly, including buying, logistics, finance, customer service, marketing, and user experience. The Product & Digital Analytics team specifically measures on-site and in-app behavior, partners with engineering and product management to govern GA4 tagging, and provides the measurement infrastructure needed to evaluate new features and experiences.
Role Responsibilities
  • Analyze how paid and organic marketing channels drive on-site behavior, connecting upstream channel performance to funnel outcomes and subscriber acquisition
  • Build and own conversion path and user journey analyses - identifying which entry points, audiences, and content paths lead to the highest-quality subscribers
  • Develop persona-level behavioral analysis to help marketing and merchandising teams understand how different customer segments browse, engage, and convert
  • Support landing page and campaign performance analysis, evaluating how traffic sources, creative, and messaging influence funnel progression
  • Partner with the Marketing Analytics team on channel attribution, incrementality, and cross-channel measurement questions that require on-site behavioral data
  • Collaborate with the Digital Analytics Manager to ensure marketing-relevant events and conversion touchpoints are properly tracked
  • Document analyses and data definitions clearly for use across the team

Role Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, marketing, business, or related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in digital analytics, marketing analytics, or a closely related role
  • Strong SQL skills - able to write, read, and QA complex queries
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics (GA4 experience is a strong plus)
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Looker
  • Comfort working with paid media data and understanding marketing channel metrics (Meta, Google, TikTok, etc.)
  • Familiarity with basic statistical concepts
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in e-commerce, subscription services, or retail is a plus
  • Exposure to attribution concepts, A/B testing, or incrementality measurement is a plus
  • Practical experience using AI/LLM tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for analytical work is a plus
