Job description

Applecart is the leading technology company that C-suites rely on to reach business-critical decision makers. The most important decisions are made by the hardest people to reach and influence. Historically, C-suite leaders have lacked the tools to reach the stakeholders that matter most to their business. The C-suites of hundreds of Fortune 500 companies, major agencies, trade associations, nonprofits, and governments use Applecart to put their best content in front of business-critical decision makers and those they trust -  from policymakers and investors to CEOs, key employees, members of the media and more. Decision makers are informed by what they read, learn from advisors, hear from colleagues, and discuss with family and friends. To break through to them, you must reach them through the only channel that really moves them: those they know and trust. Applecart's platform uses publicly available data to map billions of social relationships between nearly every American adult and enable clients to deliver content directly to decision makers and those that matter most to them.

We are hiring an Account Director in our New York City office.

About the Role:

You will serve as the day to day strategic lead on our most important accounts, managing high-stakes relationships with some of the country's most prominent Fortune 500 companies, trade associations, and advocacy organizations. In this role, you are more than an executor; you are a trusted advisor. You will be responsible for navigating complex client landscapes, delivering high-level strategic counsel, and identifying commercial opportunities to expand Applecart's footprint within your accounts. You will work with a talented team of senior communications and public affairs professionals, digital marketing and media strategists, client associates, data scientists, and analysts who, together, drive outcomes for Applecart's high-profile clients.

What You'll Do:
  • Account Management: Serve as the primary day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of enterprise accounts, interfacing directly with client stakeholders to solve tactical hurdles and provide strategic advice that matches clients' business objectives with Applecart's platform capabilities. Work directly with a Senior Managing Director to service accounts, with support of a project manager and cross-functional team members.
  • Drive Commercial Growth: Actively identify "white space" and new use cases for Applecart's products within existing accounts; tee up revenue expansion opportunities. Maintain a pulse on the daily news cycle and industry trends to proactively advise clients on how current events impact their reputation and how Applecart's platform can address their opportunities and challenges
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Strategically lead the client delivery process, working cross-functionally to build, execute, and report on the results of digital paid media plans and budgets that achieve the goals of major corporate reputation, public affairs, and B2B marketing campaigns.
  • Own Deliverables: Oversee the creation of polished, executive-ready presentations that translate complex data into compelling reporting narratives and actionable insights for C-suite audiences.
  • Communication: Communicate clearly, comfortably, and expertly with clients at various levels about Applecart's product offerings as well as the client's business and goals, verbally and in written form.
Experiences and Capabilities You Bring:
  • 10+ years of experience in public affairs/corporate reputation account management, with expertise in digital advertising.
  • Proven track record working directly with Fortune 500 clients across multiple departments or large-scale advocacy organizations to drive strategy and revenue growth.
  • Communication: You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Presence: You are a clear, confident communicator. You can think on your feet, build instant rapport, and contribute in a room of senior stakeholders without hesitation.
  • Storytelling: You don't just report numbers; you tell a story. You know how to translate data into stories of value, impact, and opportunity to compel clients to take action.
  • Growth Mindset: You are able to naturally spot opportunities to solve a client's next problem using Applecart's platform.
  • Solution Oriented: You can see around every corner and proactively recommend solutions to ensure the best possible client experience. You can quickly learn who to talk to internally to get things done.
  • Strong Sense of Ownership: You possess a high degree of urgency and a "client-first" mentality, ensuring deliverables are not just on time, but exceed expectations. You are always on (even outside of traditional working hours).
  • Technical Literacy: You are proficient in the digital ad ecosystem (Programmatic DSPs, Facebook Business Manager, LinkedIn Campaign Manager, Twitter ads).
  • Disposition: You are energetic and upbeat, with a sharp sense of humor and the ability to maintain "cool confidence" under tight deadlines.

This is a hybrid role. Work from home or in the office on Monday and Friday, and in Applecart's New York City office Tuesday through Thursday.

Compensation:

Our compensation package consists of three components: (i) a base salary, (ii)  incentive cash compensation tied to revenue you generate, and (iii) generous equity compensation.

The total "on-target earnings" (i.e., base salary plus performance-based bonus) for this role is between $225,000.00 and $265,000.00, with a base salary range between $160,000.00 and $185,000.00, based on the candidate's experience and skills relative to the requirements listed above. The salary range provided for this role is specific to candidates located in the New York City area.
