Manager, Engineering Program Management - Strategic Data Solutions

Austin, Texas, United States Corporate Functions

SDS Compliance team is hiring an EPM MGR for a high-visibility, cross-functional role which works with SDS, Corporate Compliance, Legal, and Engineering team partners. The SDS Compliance EPM MGR will support the Program team in developing and driving integrations, process improvements, platform work, and analytic solutions. The EPM MGR will lead a team of Engineering Project/Program Managers, Qualitative Business Analysts, and Data Scientists to deliver Apple's compliance engineering strategy and program.

Description

The SDS Compliance EPM MGR will lead a Program Team in support of SDS Compliance strategy and deliverables. They will work closely with Quantitative Business Analysts, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, Software Engineers, Compliance Investigators and Engineering Project Managers to drive new integrations, analytic solutions, and process improvements. The MGR will develop partnerships with key business leaders across a variety of teams at Apple, to include finance, corporate compliance, corporate legal, operations, engineering, and corporate security. The MGR will work with the Program Lead to identify new business opportunities and develop solutions which balance impact, cost, resourcing, timeline, strategy, and risk. As SDS Compliance expands into a new vertical through 2028, the EPM MGR will effectively communicate project status, roadblocks, executive updates, and analytic results. The EPM MGR will shift rapidly between communication styles and ongoing projects, leading and empowering the team to work independently and using good judgement on when to update and seek guidance from team members, partners, and leadership. The EPM MGR will be responsible for addressing roadblocks, aligning partners with competing priorities, and motivating the team, particularly during uncertain or changing legal and regulatory environments. Engineering Program Managers on our Strategic Data Solutions (SDS) team deliver. They drive decision automation using machine learning that allows Apple to execute w/ greater speed, control, efficiency, and scale. They help realize business opportunity and balance operational trade-offs. They are also expected to lead across multiple functional teams to conceptualize, build, and deliver these automated and forensic decisions which requires continuous problem solving, rapid learning, and an innovative mindset. It also requires a high level of discipline, patience, and self-awareness as you work with many different business and engineering teams.

Minimum Qualifications
  • BS/MS or equivalent experience in a relevant field - engineering, math, computer science
  • 5 years of experience in technical program management or project management within AppleCare or SDS required
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and navigate evolving regulation to produce clear, actionable guidance
  • Proven ability to build and sustain partnerships across engineering, legal, and policy stakeholders - influencing outcomes without direct authority
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to adapt to audiences ranging from technical engineers to senior leadership
  • Track record of leading multiple concurrent programs with competing priorities and delivering reliably
  • Commitment to grow and develop direct reports while advancing SDS Compliance goals
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in governance, financial regulatory compliance, or a related field
  • Previous people management experience is a plus
  • Background in governance, risk management, or financial services engineering environments
  • Experience briefing senior leadership and demonstrated ability to gain alignment
  • Self-motivated and energized by the opportunity to lead at Apple
