The Central Texas Food Bank (CTFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in Central Texas and a proud member of the Feeding America network. From its headquarters in Austin and its satellite facility in Waco, CTFB serves a 21-county region on a mission to increase food access by providing nutritious food, leading hunger and poverty advocacy efforts, and transforming lives through programs, education, and innovative solutions. Through a combination of direct service programs and a network of approximately 250 nonprofit community partners, CTFB supports over 612,000 food-insecure individuals annually. Position Overview
The Digital Content Coordinator (DCC) serves as the organization's day-to-day digital communications specialist, helping ensure timely, accurate, and engaging content reaches audiences across multiple channels including social media, blogs, and other online platforms. The DCC publishes content, manages online communities, monitors engagement, and ensures the organization's digital channels remain active, engaging, and responsive. This role combines content creation, audience engagement, and content publishing responsibilities to help expand the organization's reach and strengthen connections with key audiences. This role actively monitors trends, identifies opportunities for real-time storytelling, and helps foster meaningful online conversations that reflect CTFB's mission and values.
Key Responsibilities
  • Content Creation: Create, edit, and publish platform specific content across multiple communication channels, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with brand standards supporting engagement and audience growth.
  • Content Scheduling: Schedule, publish, and manage content across all social media platforms according to established content calendars and campaign timelines while being flexible to just in time or emergency operations content.
  • Audience Engagement: Coordinate audience engagement activities across digital channels by creating and publishing content, responding to inquiries, and fostering meaningful interactions that support organizational goals. Identify and communicate engagement trends and insights to support content planning.
  • Digital Campaign Support: Support the department (as necessary) in executing social media and digital communication strategies that require assisting with story gathering, interviews, and content development.
  • Social media publishing: Coordinate the publishing of content across social media platforms by scheduling posts, maintaining the content calendar, and ensuring timely, accurate, and brand-consistent communications.
  • Social listening: Monitor social media channels and online conversations to identify audience trends, respond or route inquiries as appropriate, and share insights that support audience engagement, brand reputation, and content planning.
  • Social analytics reporting: Monitor and report on social media performance by tracking key metrics, analyzing audience engagement, and providing insights to improve content effectiveness and support data-informed marketing decisions.
  • Community management: Engage with online audiences by monitoring social media channels, responding to comments and messages, and encouraging meaningful interactions that strengthen community relationships.
  • Platform management: Maintain CTFB's digital platforms by performing quality assurance reviews, coordinating routine enhancements, and ensuring accurate, accessible, and brand-consistent user experience.

Relationships
The Digital Content Coordinator is a member of a five-person Marketing + Communications team and reports to the Marketing Manager. This is a hands-on role that requires regular engagement with internal team members and external stakeholders at distributions, events, partner locations, volunteer activities, and community gatherings
Requirements
Your Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, public relations, digital media, or related fields.
  • Minimum of two years' experience supporting digital communications, social media, content marketing, or related communications functions.
  • Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills with the ability to create engaging content for a variety of audiences and digital platforms.
  • Experience managing and publishing content across social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, and emerging channels.
  • Working knowledge of social media trends, audience engagement strategies, analytics, and platform best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and develop compelling stories that support organizational goals and drive audience engagement.
  • Proficiency in photography, videography, graphic design, and multimedia content creation for digital platforms.
  • Experience producing and adapting content for social media, blogs, websites, email communications, and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Ability to monitor and respond to online engagement professionally while maintaining organizational voice and brand standards.
  • Experience using social media management, project management, and content development tools such as Sprout Social, Asana, Canva, Microsoft Office, and similar applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize competing deadlines, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with team members, volunteers, donors, community partners, and other stakeholders to gather stories and support communications initiatives.
  • Understanding brand standards and style guidelines, with the ability to maintain consistency across all digital communications.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, sound judgment, and discretion, with the ability to represent CTFB positively online and in community settings.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken, is preferred to fully support effective engagement with the diverse communities we serve.
  • Strong attention to detail, creativity, responsiveness, and a passion for connecting neighbors, supporters, volunteers, and partners with stories that inspire engagement and action.
Working Conditions
  • Hours of Operation: Core business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Weekend and evening work will be required to capture CTFB events beyond core business hours.
  • Environment: This position is a hybrid role that requires office presence three days a week. Remote work is acceptable for two days per week and must be on a consistent schedule.

Travel: This position may require regular travel throughout the 21-county service area, including same-day trips using a personal vehicle or CTFB fleet vehicle, as well as occasional overnight travel for meetings, conferences, trainings, and special events.
