To thrive as a Diesel Tech Apprentice, you need a basic understanding of diesel engine mechanics, strong problem-solving abilities, and typically a high school diploma or technical training. Familiarity with diagnostic tools, hand and power tools, and safety protocols is essential, and some employers may require or prefer ASE certification.
