Job Description

CEDA is currently looking to hire 4 Heavy Equipment Technician Apprentice for our truck shop in the Fort McMurray located at 180 MacLennan Crescent.ย ย  We offer a first-class culture of professionals, great equipment and our mandate of doing the work right the first time is the pride we bring to the shop every day.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Preventative maintenance on Hydrovacs, Wet Vaccuum, Combo and Water trucks; High Pressure Water Blasting Equipment, Highway tractors and trailers (Peterbilt, Western Star, Kenworth)
  • Ongoing diagnostic and repair of diesel engines & after treatment. (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, and John Deere)
  • Hydraulic & PTO diagnostic and repair
  • Clutches, transmissions & differentials
  • Vacuum pump & blower repair
  • Burner diagnostic & repair
  • Commercial Vehicle Inspections
  • Troubleshoot issues, inspect equipment and replace or repair defective parts
  • Interpret work orders
  • Work alongside apprentices and delegate work
  • Attend daily tool box and safety meetings as scheduled and adhere to corporate and site safety regulations

ย Role Specifications

  • Must be a registered (On-Road) Apprentice.
  • Valid Class 5 licence with no more than 5 demerits in the last 3 years is required
  • Valid Class 1 or 3 license would be an asset
  • Weight handling of up to 50 lbs
  • Experience in hydraulic, electrical, and pump systems is an asset
  • Able to provide a negative pre-employment drug and alcohol test
  • Able to provide your own tools
