Position: Diesel Mechanic

Location: Norco, LA or St. James LA

Reports to: Maintenance Manager  

TNT is looking to add an experienced full-time diesel mechanic to our growing Branch. The following are a list of requirements; You must meet all the requirements below to be considered for this position.

Summary: TNT Crane and Rigging Inc. is currently seeking a full-time experienced Diesel Mechanic to help build our branch location. The mechanic will perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment. Follows all State and Federal laws while operating motor vehicles. Follows all safety and environmental policies while performing job tasks.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least (2) years’ experience as a mechanic in an automotive, trucking or heavy equipment environment, or any equivalent combination of education and experience is a plus.
  • Ability to safely lift over 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
  • Trade school diploma preferred
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License

Responsibilities:

  • Supply your own tools with up-to-date tool inventory (We have a variety of specialty tools in the shop)
  • Must be able to perform scheduled maintenance trucks, cranes, forklifts, and other various equipment
  • Must be able to document all maintenance and repairs performed on the equipment and file records properly.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Understand electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic circuits a plus
  • Ability to work some evenings and weekends at the shop
  • Must be able to verbally communicate Safety issues to Customers and co-workers on location before and during job task.
  • Reports to Supervisor and/or Lead Mechanic on completion of assigned job task for next assignment.
  • Hydraulics, electronics, and mechanical crane troubleshooting.
  • Other duties as assigned
