Jerry’s Towing is hiring a Diesel Mechanic to join our team in Roberts, Wisconsin. We are looking for a dependable, experienced mechanic who can help maintain, diagnose, and repair our fleet of towing and recovery equipment. This position is a strong fit for someone who takes pride in quality work, understands the importance of keeping trucks safe and road-ready, and wants a stable, full-time role with a growing company.

Our fleet includes light-duty tow trucks, medium-duty trucks, heavy-duty wreckers, service vehicles, trailers, and support equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting mechanical issues, completing repairs, and helping reduce downtime so our operators can continue serving customers safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities

Perform diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on diesel-powered trucks and equipment.

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, steering components, hydraulics, electrical systems, cooling systems, and air systems.

Perform preventative maintenance services, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, lubrication, brake inspections, and DOT-style inspections.

Diagnose and repair issues on tow trucks, wreckers, rollbacks, service trucks, trailers, and related towing equipment.

Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, parts used, and maintenance completed.

Identify safety concerns and communicate repair recommendations clearly.

Work with management and drivers to prioritize repairs and keep fleet downtime to a minimum.

Keep the shop, tools, and work areas clean, organized, and safe.

Assist with emergency repairs or urgent fleet needs when necessary.

Follow company procedures and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

Diesel mechanic experience required.

Experience working on medium-duty or heavy-duty trucks preferred.

Knowledge of diesel engines, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspension, and drivetrain components.

Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and complete repairs efficiently.

Experience with towing, recovery, trucking, fleet maintenance, or heavy equipment is a plus.

Must have your own basic tools.

Valid driver’s license required.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
