Job Description

Seelye Auto Group is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ford Certified Diesel Service Technician to join our service department. This role is ideal for someone with at least 5+ years of Ford dealership experience, specializing in light and medium duty diesel engine diagnosis and repair. The right candidate will bring advanced technical knowledge, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to delivering top-quality service that exceeds customer expectations.

A premium candidate will command premium pay.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and verify customer concerns

  • Perform advanced diagnostics using a systematic process to identify both failure and root cause

  • Perform inspections and recommend required maintenance

  • Clearly communicate reasons for recommendations to customers, distinguishing between repairs and preventative maintenance

  • Maintain high efficiency while ensuring quality workmanship

  • Accurately document diagnosis and repair details in repair orders

  • Conduct post-repair road tests to verify repairs

  • Tag and return all warranty parts to the parts department

  • Attend training and stay informed on factory technical bulletins

  • Keep work area clean, organized, and safe

  • Ensure customer vehicles are returned in the same clean condition as received

  • Display courtesy to all guests, visitors, and dealership personnel

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Service Manager

Qualifications
  • Ford Certification in Diesel Engine Repair and Diesel Engine Performance

  • State of Michigan certification in Diesel Engine Repair, Diesel Engine Performance, and Electrical Systems

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Ford dealership technician

  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Self-motivated, professional, and detail-oriented
