Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Shop/Traveling Diesel Mechanic with extensive troubleshooting experience in medium and heavy-duty truck systems. This role is ideal for a self-sufficient, diagnostic-focused technician who can accurately identify issues and complete repairs efficiently - the first time.

This position requires travel throughout Oklahoma, Texas, Louisiana, Kansas and Colorado. Candidates must be comfortable working independently in the field with minimal supervision.

This is a shop/travel mechanic position. With shop being located in Oklahoma City, OK. 

Service truck provided.

Key Responsibilities

  • Travel between job sites to inspect, diagnose, and repair medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks, skid steers, and related equipment.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and repair of:
    • Diesel engines
    • Electrical systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Emissions systems (aftertreatment/DEF systems)
    • Transmissions
    • A/C systems
    • Hi-Rail gear systems
    • Spray systems
  • Utilize scan tools, diagnostic software, multimeters, pressure gauges, and other testing equipment to accurately identify mechanical and electrical failures.
  • Perform routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and preventative services.
  • Demonstrate strong working knowledge of diesel emissions systems and electrical diagnostics.
  • Complete repairs efficiently and correctly on the first attempt through accurate root-cause analysis.
  • Perform fabrication, welding, and cutting as required.
  • Maintain service truck organization, tool inventory, and parts accountability.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation and communicate repair updates with management.
  • Ensure full compliance with company safety standards and DOT regulations.
  • Work extended hours as needed and operate effectively in all weather conditions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty truck repair.
  • Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills across diesel, hydraulic, electrical, and emissions systems (REQUIRED).
  • Strong understanding of aftertreatment systems and diesel emissions components.
  • Proven ability to work independently in remote environments with minimal supervision.
  • Fabrication and welding experience required.
  • ASE certifications are preferred but not required.
  • Valid driver's license required; must be able to pass a DOT physical.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across multiple states. (Hotel accommodations and per-diem provided by DCS)
  • Must provide verifiable employment history and hands-on experience
