Job description

Job Title: Tool & Die Technician
Employment Type: Full-time
Salary: $19-$24 per hour
Schedule: Shift work is 6:15am to 6:30pm & 6:15pm to 6:30am (days, evenings, or weekends) may be required overtime depending on production needs.
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tool & Die Technician to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for mold assembly, tool maintenance, grinding, inspections, and troubleshooting to ensure tooling meets quality standards and supports efficient production.
Responsibilities
  • Assemble, maintain, and repair molds and tooling.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and replace worn or damaged tool components.
  • Operate grinding and manual milling machines.
  • Inspect tooling using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and profile projectors.
  • Troubleshoot tooling issues and support mold changes during production.
  • Conduct incoming inspections of new molds and tooling components.
  • Prepare tooling for production trials and ensure quality standards are met before release.
  • Train and assist junior operators on assembly and inspection techniques.
  • Maintain quality documentation and follow company safety policies and 5S standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Tool & Die Maker certification or 2+ years of Tool & Die, mold assembly, or tooling experience preferred.
  • Experience operating grinding and manual milling equipment.
  • Knowledge of mold maintenance, tool repair, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and perform quality inspections.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Physical Requirements
1. Ability to stand and walk the entire workday, tolerate the heat, air quality and general work conditions of a manufacturing environment.
2. Must be capable of frequent bending, stooping, stretching, reaching, climbing and balancing constantly.
3. Ability to frequently lift 10 to 50 lbs.
4. Ability to work overtime as needed
