Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Corporate President, the Division President is responsible for the overall leadership, growth, profitability, and performance of Dixie Diamond Manufacturing (DDM). The Division President provides strategic and day-to-day leadership for sales, estimating, finance, engineering, operations, and customer service while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and employee engagement. This position has overall division-level P&L responsibility, with focus on managing order bookings, sales revenue, gross profit, and expenses to meet budgeted profitability targets, and directly supervises the division's sales and cross-functional leadership.
The Division President develops and executes the division's strategic plan, identifies existing and emerging niche market opportunities, drives profitable revenue growth, and ensures alignment with The Armor Group's operating principles and documented business processes.
Responsibilities include the following:
Business Leadership
  • Own the division's P&L and deliver annual revenue, gross profit, and EBIT/net EBT objectives.
  • Develop and execute the division's annual strategic plan, including annual sales and marketing plans.
  • Identify new market opportunities, products, and customer segments that support long-term growth.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs across sales, operations, quality, delivery, and profitability.
  • Track and analyze returns/payback on marketing expenses.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives throughout the business.

Commercial Leadership
  • Lead all sales activities within the division and steer major key customer relationships.
  • Develop and manage individual sales goals in line with the division's budget and track bonus plans to budget.
  • Develop account growth strategies for key customers and participate in major sales opportunities.
  • Lead the division sales team to maintain The Armor Group's disciplined sales process through utilization of CRM.
  • Review major quotations and pricing strategy to maximize profitable growth, and ensure proper estimating rates and processes are in place and executed to protect Armor.
  • Improve forecasting accuracy and pipeline visibility.

Operations Leadership
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Estimating, and Supply Chain to ensure customer commitments are achieved.
  • Monitor production capacity, backlog, on-time delivery, and quality performance.
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration to resolve customer issues.
  • Support Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.

Financial Management
  • Develop annual operating budgets and meet or exceed total division annual budget revenue, gross profit, and net EBT numbers while maintaining P&L.
  • Monitor financial performance against budget.
  • Drive gross margin improvement through pricing discipline, productivity improvements, and cost control.
  • Review quoting assumptions and labor standards to improve profitability.
  • Manage operating expenses within approved budgets.

Leadership & Talent Development
  • Recruit, develop, coach, and retain high-performing team members.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports.
  • Establish accountability through measurable goals and performance reviews.
  • Foster a culture of integrity, teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement.

Customer Focus
  • Serve as executive sponsor for key customer relationships.
  • Resolve escalated customer concerns quickly and professionally.
  • Ensure Voice of Customer feedback is incorporated into business improvements.
  • Promote long-term partnerships through responsiveness, quality, and execution.

Strategic Planning
  • Design and execute the Strategic Plan for the business, including:
    • Identifying and exploiting niche market opportunities within the overall division strategy
    • Company strengths and weaknesses
    • Core competencies
    • Target markets and products via segmentation
    • Competitor and pricing analysis
    • Growth market opportunities
    • New trends and technologies
    • Product/market analysis

General
  • Understand, promote, train, and ensure compliance of the QMS within the managed department.
  • Additional items as assigned by manager.

PRINCIPAL CONTACTS INSIDE/OUTSIDE THE COMPANY
This position interacts with customers, division sales personnel, Marketing, Project Managers, Engineering, Operations, Estimating, Supply Chain, Accounting, HR, Corporate President, CFO, and the CEO.

  • Experience in assembling, leading, and driving a high-performance team to hit budgeted revenue and profitability growth numbers.
  • Extensive sales background with strong interactive communication skills and the ability to influence, persuade, and motivate others.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field preferred.
  • 7-10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in developing and executing sales and marketing plans.
  • Experience leading sales within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated P&L responsibility.
  • Experience with industrial products, capital equipment, or engineered-to-order manufacturing preferred.
  • Proven success developing teams and driving repeatable growth.
