Job Description
This role is responsible for the directing, coaching and leading of Implementation Advisors and the Site Leadership teams within a regional area or business unit sector to implement the Operations Management Systems that includes performance tracking/management tools required to achieve operational effectiveness and standards within the site.
  • Verify and ensuring all operational and performance tracking/management tools are in place or planned in detail prior to and during the readiness and implementation phase to support the transformational process
  • Coordinate and direct the delivery of consistent implementations across each assigned region or sites to ensure each site within the program scope has a standard DHL Supply Chain performance tracking and Operations Management System.
  • Work with OMS Data Systems and IT to establish the integration/extract from source systems (i.e. WMS/T&A systems) and ensure all necessary items are in place for the implementation.
  • Work with OMS Data Systems to ensure a complete analysis of the data to highlight and detail areas where source systems are not providing data in the correct format or detail
  • Ensure that all effective processes are defined, analyzed and then map in detail in preparation for application of standards
  • Based on detailed process observations and analysis on site discuss, define and agree the site specific OM DS Concept together with the site leadership team (based on DHL Supply Chain standards); this will be the basis for the configuration of the ideal DHL Supply Chain performance tracking/mgt. solution
  • Ensure that the creation of the location mapping where applicable to a sufficient level of detail ensuring future flexibility to enable effective maintenance while providing the platform for accurate standards to be built.
  • Coordinate/conduct the testing of the performance tracking tools/system solution in strong collaboration with the IT teams and finally (through a UAT) together with the site leadership team and achieve a final confirmation of the solution by all parties engaged to be in line with the agreed OM DS Concept and the full accuracy of all data provided by the solution.
  • Coach and direct the Implementation Advisors to deliver effective training and knowledge transfer to site users and others on use of the Operations Management System, performance tracking tools/systems, interpretation , maintenance and issue resolution
  • In case of discrete standards define the detailed requirements by job or task for industrial engineering. Completing the required work studies or manage a contractor accordingly
  • Highlight and define any interface or DHL link work that may be required.
  • Ensure that any risks and lessons learned are appropriately captured and communicated to greater team
  • Conduct Operations Management System, Process and System Confirmations in line with sustainability models to ensure success of implementation and long term sustainability.
  • Ensure transformational process deployments are aligned with: sector, site, customer objectives and creates value for DHL and our Customers
  • Working with the Transformation Advisors, Champions and Regional Operations Director replicate process improvements across customer accounts where applicable (incorporate replication in initial transformational action plans)
  • Working with the Transformation Advisors Champions and Regional Operations Director to conduct regular process continuous improvement workshop progress reviews with customers
  • Provide regular (monthly) OMS progress updates and related improvement activity with Transformation Advisors, Champions, Regional Operations Director and Regional Vice President
  • Establish a balanced schedule of activity across assigned sites and sectors
  • Provide associates involved in Operations Management System with the necessary knowledge to understand the overall Continuous Improvement Process, objectives and related tools / routines
  • Create and foster an environment within the Operations Management System process that promotes open free flowing involvement and ideas
  • Direct and Coach the execution of continuous improvement workshop as they pertain to Operations Management System and help facilitate workshops as necessary.
  • Verify to ensure the documentation of improved processes is in a format consistent with relative Operations Management System, regulatory and ISO requirements for site / sector.
  • Ensure the value structure exists for the quantification of project savings / defect reduction for each workshop/Value Stream Map conducted
  • As requested participate in the implementation of broad based deployment initiatives
  • Champion best practice sharing during the deployment of workshop action planning activity

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent General Management or Above Experience required
  • 7+ years of experience in large scale Lean/Operations Management Systems Transformation required
  • 5+ years of Operations experience, required
  • 2+ years of Logistic industry experience, preferred
