Overview


Tanaq Management Services (TMS) delivers professional, scientific, and technical services and information technology (IT) solutions to federal agencies in health, agriculture, technology, and other government services. About the Role


We are seeking a Clinical Measurement Support Nurse to provide clinical measurement nursing quality consultation and data analysis support the Clinical Quality Management (CQM) Program at the Defense Health Agency (DHA).


The Clinical Measurement Support Nurse will provide HQ-level administration and management of healthcare clinical measurement utilizing Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS), National Perinatal Information Center (NPIC), National Surgical Improvement Program (NSQIP), Trauma Quality Improvement Program (TQIP), and National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), Oryx, Hospital Compare, and Leapfrog.


This is a fully remote position based in the United States. Must be available between 8:00 am to 5:00 pm EST Monday through Friday. This position is contingent upon contract award.


Responsibilities

  • Assist with processes for assessing and reporting the quality of health and healthcare across the Military Health System (MHS) enterprise in alignment with policy and regulation under the DHA Clinical Measurement program.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of healthcare clinical measurement strategies, measures, technical specifications, analysis and display of data
  • Provide subject matter expertise and consultation to the CM leadership; prepare reports and briefs for multiple stakeholders across the MHS.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring and education to Networks and MTFs.
  • Support procedures for the management of clinical measurements and evaluations.
  • Provide guidance on participation in national quality database registries and provide support for all transparency domains as defined by National Patient Safety Foundation.
  • Demonstrate competence with use of measures to assess the quality and safety of care delivered, clinical measurements used to identify trends and focus quality improvement efforts on performance plans across the healthcare delivery system.
  • Assess and report on the quality of health and healthcare across the MHS enterprise in alignment with policy and regulation under the DHA Clinical Measurement program.
  • Maintain solid understanding of healthcare clinical measurement strategies, measures, analysis and display of data.
  • Conduct management of clinical measurements and evaluations.
  • Provide a weekly Clinical Measurement project status report to be included in the CQM Weekly Performance report.
  • Follow all statutes, Department of Defense Instructions (DoDI’s), and DHA policies and procedures pertaining to the CQM program, training requirements, standards of conduct as established by the DHA Director. and program reporting protocols.
  • Perform other duties as required.
Requirements:


Required Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 10 years combined clinical and administrative healthcare experience.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in clinical quality, clinical quality measurement and clinical quality improvement at a large healthcare system, corporate healthcare or HQ.
  • Must have experience supporting the Military Health System (MHS)/Defense Health Agency (DHA).
  • Experience with technical healthcare clinical measurement (HEDIS, NPIC, NSQIP, TQIP NCQA, Hospital Compare and Leapfrog.
  • Knowledgeable on the use of measures to assess the quality and safety of care delivered, clinical measurements used to identify trends and focus quality improvement efforts on performance plans across the healthcare delivery system.
  • Experience in Corporate, HQ or large medical system preferred.
  • Effectively communicate at various levels within the organization.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Public Trust or equivalent DHA security clearance and customer approval.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.

Education and Training

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in nursing. An Associate’s degree in nursing with significant directly related experience may be considered.
  • Registered Nurse with the ability to maintain current, unencumbered Registered Nurse licensure.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) required.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. May need to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
