Diversified Gas & Oil Corporation (DGOC) is an established owner and operator of producing conventional and unconventional natural gas & oil wells and midstream pipelines and compression stations concentrated in the Appalachian Basin in the United States. Headquartered in Birmingham, AL, our field operations are located throughout the Appalachian Basin in the states of Tennessee, Kentucky, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. In 2021, Diversified announced our expansion into our Central Regional Focus Area, which includes producing areas within Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas.
POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
DGOC is seeking to hire a Sr. Gas Actualization Manager who is self-motivated, dependable, analytical, well-organized, and results oriented. Candidate must have good interpersonal skills and experience in the natural gas industry.
Gas Actualization professionals are responsible for reconciling volumetric activity in Diversified's Energy Marketing system to actual pipeline statements and counterparty pay statements, resolving unaccounted for volumes and ensuring that funds are disbursed appropriately to settle all transportation invoices from our pipeline counterparties on a monthly basis. Understands the basic movement of natural gas, knowledge of electronic bulletin boards, and internal tracking systems, and is capable of tracking transactions from inception through the distribution process. Independent action is required in dealing with problem solving (with oversite and guidance). Work is varied but Diversified has a monthly routine as well. May be able to work independently at times and act on certain matters without referring to co-workers or superiors for advice and guidance.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Reconcile pipeline and counterparty pay statements

  • Volume uploads to Marketing system

  • Prepare Distribution reports for Diversified's Revenue accounting team working in conjunction with the Energy Services team to ensure accuracy.

  • Prepare Accrual reports for Diversified's Revenue accounting team working in conjunction with the Energy Services team to ensure accuracy.

  • Prepare expected cash receivable reports for Diversified's Revenue accounting team working in conjunction with the Energy Services team to ensure accuracy.

  • Reconcile Accounts Receivable aging reports in conjunction with Revenue accounting team.

  • Provide Audit support for semi-annual and annual financial audits.

  • Reconcile Diversified's imbalances on Interstate, Intrastate, Midstreams, and Gathering system.

  • Work closely with the team to understand and reconcile transaction discrepancies.

  • Apply an understanding of pipeline contracts to reconcile charges vs expectations.

  • Verify invoices with third parties and maintain good counterparty relationships.

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • General knowledge of interstate gas pipeline systems

  • General understanding of natural gas gathering, balancing, and purchase/sale contracts

  • Ability to effectively communicate with scheduling counterparts, pipeline representatives, and natural gas producers

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, deliver high-quality performance on multiple value-added tasks and priorities

  • Demonstrated willingness to both teach others and learn new techniques

  • Good teamwork and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work with people at all levels and across organization boundaries

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Excel proficiency to include but not be limited to: formulas, if/and statements, vlookups, xlookups, and pivot tables.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience with implementing and on-going management of ETRM and Midstream management systems

  • Revenue Accounting experience

  • Project management skills

Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
