To thrive as a DevSecOps professional, a strong background in software development, IT operations, and cybersecurity principles is essential, often supported by experience with CI/CD pipelines and a relevant degree or certifications like CompTIA Security+ or AWS Certified Security. Familiarity with automation tools such as Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and security scanning tools is typically required. Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills help professionals effectively integrate security into development workflows, especially when working with distributed teams part-time.
