Job description

About Sent
Sent is an infrastructure for sending A2P messages across SMS, WhatsApp, and RCS through a single unified API. Our intelligent routing model automates channel selection based on deliverability and cost, ensuring lower cost and global reach without any channel-specific integrations.
We recently closed a $5.1M Seed round backed by Companyon Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, UIF, and CEAS Investments. We're hiring to build the best infrastructure to replace multi-channel messaging stacks.
The Role
We're hiring a Demand Gen expert to build the engine that turns Sent's growing developer mindshare into signups, activated accounts, and real pipeline. The job is to own the full path to signup and live production.
This is a technical, experiment-driven role. You'll run a high-velocity testing cadence across the funnel, and you'll build a lot of it yourself: you write the code to pull your own numbers, you ship the landing page, and you understand the product well enough to use it. You'll be the person who knows, down to the dollar, what a qualified signup costs, which experiments moved it, and where the best developers come from. As one of our earliest marketing hires, you'll inherit the demand engine directly from our CEO and own its number moving forward.
You'll also work hand in hand with our developer relations function, turning technical content, demos, and community engagement into measurable demand. You know how DevRel actually works, how the ecosystem behaves, and how to plug into it without coming off as a marketer. Where DevRel builds trust and mindshare, you build the loops that capture and convert it.
What you'll do
  • Run a structured growth experimentation cadence: form hypotheses, ship tests across landing pages, onboarding, pricing, and paid creative, read the results honestly, and double down on what wins
  • Own the self-serve activation funnel end to end: signup → first API call → first production send. Instrument it, find where developers drop off, and write the experiments that fix it
  • Partner closely with DevRel to turn technical content, demos, talks, and community presence into distribution and demand, and build the measurement to show what's landing
  • Engage credibly in the developer ecosystem, Hacker News, X, Reddit, Discord, GitHub, dev newsletters and podcasts, and turn that engagement into repeatable acquisition channels
  • Own full-funnel demand across paid (search, social, podcast/newsletter sponsorships), SEO, lifecycle, and events, building repeatable systems and growth loops rather than one-off campaigns
  • Build your own tooling and tracking: write SQL against the warehouse, stand up landing pages, script automations, integrate the marketing stack via API, and build the occasional interactive demo or programmatic-SEO play without waiting on engineering
  • Own marketing's contribution to revenue, self-serve and sales-assisted, and report cleanly on CAC, conversion rates, payback, and experiment ROI
  • Partner with sales on lead scoring, handoff, and targeted account-based plays for larger logos, and with DevRel and content to turn technical work into distribution

What you bring
  • At least 4 years in demand generation or growth marketing, with experience owning a funnel or a number end to end, ideally at a developer-first, API, or infrastructure company
  • You've carried a pipeline or self-serve revenue target and hit it, and you can show which experiments got you there
  • Experience working alongside DevRel or developer marketing, and a real feel for the developer ecosystem, how communities behave, what earns credibility, and what gets you ignored
  • You code. Deeply technical skillset is expected
  • Experimentation rigor: you think in hypotheses and growth loops, you can design a clean test, and you know when a result is real versus noise
  • You know how to market to developers
  • Experience with messaging API, telecom, and API infrastructure is a big plus but not required

Our Commitment to You
  • Meaningful equity with high growth potential
  • Top-tier medical, dental, vision fully covered
  • 401(k) with 100% match up to 4%
  • Unlimited PTO
  • Beautiful NYC workspace with daily meals and unlimited snacks
  • New MacBook Pro + Apple Studio Display
  • Wellhub Gold or Equinox membership stipend

Sent, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and experiences.
