Job description

Overview
Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Facilities Sector. The Project Manager will play a crucial role in the renovation and expansion of our CSU Channel Islands higher education client project. The ideal candidate will support a major campus-wide with facility improvements, including hydronic valve replacement program, mechanical systems, along with additional capital and facilities projects. This role is ideal for someone with experience in utilities, public works, or campus environments who thrives in a fast-paced, design-build setting.
Responsibilities
  • Manage small capital projects from inception to closeout.
  • Lead and support a $3M Hydronic Valve Replacement Project, a campus-wide design-build initiative.
  • Coordinate with design teams, contractors, and campus stakeholders to ensure project milestones, quality, and compliance.
  • Manage project documentation, schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements.
  • Oversee or assist with additional projects, including:
    • Abatement projects
    • Tenant improvements (TI)
    • Minor capital projects
  • Maintain strong communication with the client and stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.

Qualifications
  • Ability to prepare project files for CSU system audit at project completion
  • 8-14 years of Project Management experience
  • Public works or campus project experience, particularly in occupied or operational environments.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment; on-site presence will be required based on project needs.
  • Ability to communicate mission, objectives and safety philosophy in decision making and supervising the work of others

Preferred:
  • Bachelor's Degree (in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred).
  • Institutional/Higher Ed experience preferred but not required
  • CSU experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience working for a general contractor on large construction projects is a plus
  • Utility experience preferred, especially involving hydronic systems, mechanical systems, or infrastructure upgrades.

Salary: $150K to $165K/yearly
